just when things cant get any worse.... here was my night last night.

I get a call from my good friends here in town. "Hey, I'm in a ditch, I cannot get out, theres a foot of snow...can you come get me?"

needless to say I take off work, pick him up. I cannot see where the road is. I am on the way to drop him off at home, when BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

nail the curb while making a right hand turn. I was maybe going 10mph? I must have hit it just right. Both rigt side tires flat. I take a look at the wheels....my GTP wheels that I put on the front...the RF is now dented in broke the tie off the bead...thus rendering that wheel useless.

the back also blew off the wheel.....luckily I am only 200ft from a gas station. so I go ahead and chnge the RF with the spare...so I am able to move(snow is directly up to the doors).

I try and move but...snow to think....so I reverse it and basicly rock the car forward and backward till I was able to move. needless to say after dealing with all of this I neglected to look at my temp gauge. it is WAY above 210....not quite to 260..but DANG close.

anyways...I make it to the gas station...notice some smoke coming from under the hood. crap!!! I pop the hood to let things cool down. I call for a tow. do to weather conditions...it will be 2hrs. hmm..great.

but wait. I see an impala....I tell my friend I am going to ask to buy his spare tire. but he circles around back and pops back out the front of the gas station. He roles down his window..."Hey Jacob...How are you?" its a co-worker of mine that works in my department. WHAT ARE THE ODDS????????

I aks if I can barrow his spare to get me home. He pops his trunk and I pull it out, then he says see ya tomorrow. I tell him I'll buy everyone dinner!!!! AWESOME!! now I have 2 spares on the right side! going through a foot of snow. pulls to the right HARD.

needless to say I am 1/4 mile away fom my house when the SES light kicks on and blinks...crap. I keep going.I am maybe 20feet from my driveway when it starts to misfire.....

great!! I come up to my driveway to see a 3ft high wall of snow from the plow truck. ???? they have NEVER in the 6years that I have lived here in this house ever plow my neighborhood. I tell my friend we are going in HOT. I reverse it...and floor it...SES Ligt flashes and very little power. enough to get me through the snow and halfway up my drive beforeI cannot go any farther...I have to dig myself out.

I shut the car off. and proceed to shovel my drive. had it not been 3am....I would have used the snow blower in a heart beat!!!

    so. recap in events:

    1. help friend in need
    2. ruin 1 GTP wheel
    3. blew 2 tires...one brand new
    4. LIM/UIM gasket finally blew out completely
    5. UIM cracked in front
    6. I have a paper weight in the snow covered driveway( it is now 6:20am) and I have another 3".

luckily my dad goes north to work, so he was able to drop my friend off at his house...

so....I have to figure out if I just use a vacation day...I already have 55hrs this week...or try to get the car fixed today...which means I have No sleep.

while I am in there, I am plan on throwing on the 1.9's, springs etc.....

OR........I throw my top swap on....but I dont have a good blower..so I would have to use the GTP turbo intake manifold.....

I am tired, It is freezing out, I just shoveled the entie driveway, just got done working an 11hr day. I am just soooo frustrated right now.

oh, I see all these city plows out and about..but they ae not plowing, or spreading salt. ??????????

Holy cow man. You're like Days Of Our Lives in GPF.net. Id say sleep on it a bit because if you get out there and try and work on that thing exhausted and in the cold, you're likely to make mistakes that could be worse than what you are dealing with now.

Take a day or two of vacation and get everything set and done correctly and not have to be concerned about it. I wish you were closer, Id let you use my garage.

I drove it to work. my front end is messed up! my steering whel is a little past vertical. my RF is bent in, and pushed back in the wheel well. so I now need a lower control arm

I replaced the thermostat.(3 times) For some reason, when it gets colder(night) it won't kick back on. The guy came out 3 weeks ago. It worked for 3 days(it was warmer). I just didn't have the money for him to come back. He'll be here Tuesday though! He didnt even find a problem last time. He sprayed it with cleaner.

my advice....pay someone to stand down in the basement with a flame thrower pointed at the furnace. tell the furnace that unless it works.......it wont live to see morning..

replaced with same kind of thermostat or different?

wouldnt you be able to make the guy come back and fix it without charging you for the service call if it broke right away again??

Different brand and I went to digital (thermostat). The guy (same guy) came out today. Couldn't figure it out(again). He replaced the ? open limit lockout? I don't know. As he left, it worked(5pm). After it shut off, it didN'T come back on. I called hoping for an answering machine.No. I'm calling in the morning!
I don't have a basement. But I have seriously thought about taking an axe to the unit.

I called at 8am. He said can someone be there? I said yeah, I will. ALL day I waited. He never came. I called before 3 to tell them I had to pick the kids. She said ok. They still never showed up. Funny, It worked from noon to now. It's getting colder out, so it will quit any minute.

I'd complain. or is it just 1 guy? I'd be looking into baking...using the stove in case it decides to crap out completely.
