Was on my way to work yesterday morning when out of nowhere bammmm. Opinions please damage is cosmetic only at $2700.00 out of pocket due to no full coverage. Car had 154k I bought it in 08 with 15 k never one problem . Should I rebuild it or move on to another car. Thanks.

seen way worse, you need to pop the hood and see if the rad support is bent our not, things still look pretty square hood closed.

Maybe there's more hidden damage, but I don't see 2,700 dollars worth here.

Everything is good under the hood. Replacing hood, left fender, bumper, 2 headlights, headlight brackets, plastic radiator support paint and bodywork. Still waiting on another estimate. Leaning towards fixing it. I feel it's good for another 50,000 miles.

Welp, it's $500 bucks in Junkyard parts. I bet $2000 of the estimate is paint.

Is that Brown? It looks Brown in one pic, black in the other. Hope it's not Brown, that's a fairly rare color.

    Try this!

Go to car-part.com, it's a nation-wide network of salvage yards. Hit the search for say a hood or bumper skin and sort by zip code. Dig into the search results. Maybe get lucky and find a brown one close to you that's not stripped down and has been rear-ended leaving the front end stuff intact. Order new headlights off amazon or ebay, you can find a set of tyc's or something for 120 easy. The bumper skin is the killer. The generic prepainted ones online are 250-400 bucks, but they never have the center red emblem, or the recesses to mount the Arrow emblem, on them. Some people don't care about that. I do. They also usually don't have the PONTIAC molded into the drivers side. Just for an unpainted GM part is 500+.

Yes it's brown..mocha they call it. 2nd estimate is much better 1500.00 so it's a no brainer to fix it.

Header panel is 100 new, headlights can be had for 80 new, fender, hood, and bumper cover can be had for under 300 from part outs, junkyard, etc. If you find black parts you don't even need paint.

EDIT You must have posted while I was typing but color is likely irrelevant since finding parts that color will be difficult. Paint will be your biggest expense.

Yes the color is somewhat rare so junkyards may not be the answer. Looking though just in case.

bumper covers end up being expensive for a good one, a guy I know had a front end collision, ordered an aftermarket cover, and it wouldn't fit. He ended up paying full price for a good one.

Wish you were near the junkyards in MO! There's around 30ish of those here with good panels and on a half-off day, you're looking at maybe $100. I've never looked into shipping stuff like that, but I'd be willing to search the junkyards here to see what I could find in your color? It's not like I'm not always there every weekend....

I've looked here locally but it seems my color is a bit obscure. The last I seen of the deer he was flying in the air. The woodland is next to a ditch so I was unable to find the carcass. I think I will let the body shop fix it . It's scheduled to go in next Tues so it may be done by the weekend. I believe this car has got a lot of miles left in it, as most of you understand after 9 dependable years.

I know I've read that the 3.8 often gets over 300 k with normal maintanence. From what I read the transmission is the weak link. Mine thus far has not shuddered or slipped..time will tell but it's a solid car.

Mine never shuddered or slipped either, until the forward band broke out of no where...

Well I finally got the old girl back. I'd rate the damaged areas repaired at a 8 out of 10. Aftermarket is nothing like genuine GM parts but it's a lot better than a wrecked car.
