Not really a rant but a question...that im sure could turn into a rant! lol Anyways! I had a "smartphone" blackberry pearl. Well about 3 days ago I got a call from a 1-800 number. I tried to answer and no one there...so I thought nothing of it. Well threw out the day NO one called me and thats strange because my mom ALWAYS calls! Well I tried to call my mom and it went to that 800 number...I was like rmm...So I typed in my moms number and it called the 800 number!! Well I tried to delete the number and when I did it shut my phone off....I took the battery out and then put it back in and turned it on...Tried to txt someone and it wouldnt let me! Well this went on for the WHOLE night. I would try to call someone and it would call the 800 number. If someone tried to cal me it would show they was calling and then my phone would shut off! So I took it in and that number was a virus!!!!! They said so far im the only one in that area that has been infected but they had a thing about it on there memo. I have phone service threw Alltel..that is now Verizon. So I guess just a warning! DO NOT ANSWER A 800 NUMBER! The lady said if I would have not answer it then it would have not go into my phone. Im not sure if it is just with the "smart phones" or any phone. I never asked her because I was still in shock that I got a virus like that!! But anyways! Has anyone else had this happen?

lol! I dont have a clue!!!!! But they said that pretty much anytime I tried to call someone it sent them those people number. Well my mom don't have a smart phone so thats why Im thinkin it just affects those. Also my best friend has a IPHONE 3G that I sold to him when I went to Alltel and I called him and he has not been affected by it. So Im not for sure if its just my provider or what.

I know there are numbers that you can get calls from, that seem like they're from the US, but when you answer you get charged outrageous phone bills... someone tried that one on me, but luckily I have international long distance... anywho... Hopefully Sidekicks aren't affected by this.... I can't stand blackberries anyway, minus the storm, the rest can die... lolz, No offense... but when u live in NYC, and your TRYING to move through traffic, just to get stopped by some a$$hat in front of you on a blackberry checking stocks, texting his wife what he wants for dinner, or only G-d knows what..... TOTALLY NOT a good experience...

Since were on the subject, I've got a storm and it's awesome. But I think they have some bugs to work out still. Maybe hold off for a bit and wait for them to figure it all out.
They said If I didn't like it I could switch to the curve but thats not going to happen. And for everyone out there that hates smart phones, imagine being anywhere and getting all your emails, directions, music and even your favorite web sites like this one. No more waiting to get home to see if you won the bid on ebay for mods. See where i'm going here...
