last year in July I bought a 2014 Chevy Cruze. I drove it for several months and sometime before thanksgiving I got a door ding. I hadn't even changed the oil for the first time when it happened. I got an estimate to get it repaired and it will cost about 600. my deductible for that type of claim is 500. do I pay the insurance 500 and risk a rate hike or pay out of pocket? what a pain in the ass. there is another place I can get an estimate and it might be cheaper, and if it's less than 500, it would be worth while.

Just pay the 6 bills, don't make a claim. Only my opinion.

No claim. And that's not a ding that's a serious dent or scratch if it needs paint.

It looks like a ding, but could be something else. I have no idea how and it the damage occurred.

Unless it's horrible I would ignore it.
Hows it gonna feel when you're $600 in the hole and week or month later you get another ding on your daily?
No matter where you park , it's bound to happen

fat *****es getting out of their cars and their big asses banging the car door into yours , or the idiots who park too close etc

Ehh I'll deal with it, door dings are gonna occur again. Contact a pdr guy in your area he may be able to pull it out if it is in fact a ding and doesn't require paint etc

Pics. Sometimes the PDR guys can get it straight for under $100 and a little bit of touch up paint will make it very hard to see.
