So my car leaked coolant, replaced a bunch of stuff, found out it needed the heads done (leaky valves) put it back together after replacing almost everything in the cooling system. Thing still leaks way worse than before. We were moving a week later so I had to let my dad take it and finish it, he finishes it yesterday (leaky water pump). keep in mind this is 2 months later, for what was planned to be a weekend thing. I go to reactivate the tags. aparantly local city gov put a hold on my tags for taxes on a cars I don't even own any more.

I just want to drive my old POS Grand prix why is it so freaking hard.

So I am guessing that you don't have the bills of sale or any other information on the other cars? Not sure about your state, but here you can fill out paperwork saying you no longer own the cars or they have been junked or whatever.

What happened was the older cars had taxes, for the years I owned them, being a broke student I ignored them after selling the cars.
I was told they would take the owed amount out of my state tax return. after taxes my tags were released and I thought I was fine apparently that didn't happen (no idea why the tags released) So its partly my fault for not looking into it. Its still irritating, but im going to pay the full amount and be done with it.

Yeah self induced problems suck too. I once got a ticket and got pulled over 11 years later and ended up going to jail so it could be worse.

That sounds problematic. Ive skipped paying tolls twice, I wonder if I should look into that...

Funy story, I had just waxed my car and went to the beach. there is a $4 toll on the way and my card wouldn't read so they took a photo of the car and I went on my way. A few weeks later I got the "notice" in the mail and all I could think was "Damn My car looks shiny as hell"

Tolls here are not a criminal offense they are a civil matter same as a red light camera. When I was in my late teens and early 20's I got pulled over a lot. I had one cop that had it out for me and would pull me over every time that he saw me whether or not I was doing anything wrong. I never carried my wallet and worked a few blocks from work so I really didn't need it. He always gave me a ticket for no insurance and no drivers license even though he knew damn well I had both, since he had seen them in the past. After a while I got tired of it and switched cars. I had one time where he tried to follow me into my apartment complex and I ducked into the gate before he could turn around. The gate would not re-open so he was sitting at the entrance with his lights on and I went into my apartment. Well I think he was pretty pissed off and when I left to go back to work from lunch I took my S-10 instead and he was there waiting for me, but didn't know I had the S-10. Another time I was leaving out of my complex and before I got to the gate I saw him and started to back up and said screw it I haven't done anything, so I went through the gate, which lead to a street and had a light at it. I went when the light turned green and a box truck pulled in from the street I crossed. I saw in the mirror that he had U-turned behind the box truck so I took off and ran all the way to the next light, as I was coming up on the next light I saw an HPD cruiser fly past on the street I was going to turn onto and thought to myself damn I am going to catch up to him, but he was doing about 65. When I turned I put the hammer down and took off then turned into a parking lot and ran into Subway. I could see him come up to the light and U-turn to find me. He never did. I ended up moving across the street from work into a house(literally) about a month later so I didn't drive much during his shift, since I walked across the street I ended up living there for about 7 years.

I lived in Houston at the time and now a suburb of Houston. This was also about 20 years ago.

A friend of mine got a cop fired for harassment one time. The cop would pull him over for bs stuff and my friend would always fight the tickets and win. My favorite was the time he got pulled over in a 30 mph zone for doing 30 mph and the cop told him he was in a school zone, school zone ended 3 blocks away from where the cop saw him and the sign wasn't flashing.

Back when I had the monte I had a cop who hid on a side road along what was the main road into town. He pulled me because my license plate light was "dim" I had just detailed my car, and scrubbed it so I let him search when he asked (I was 18 and barely paying my insurance)
Well while he was searching I was talking to the other officer who told me they were pulling people trying to search to stop the drug problem. No ticket, but I went and got the bulb replaced at a shop so I could have a receipt. I got pulled 3 more times, second time I showed the receipt, third he was point his ****ing spotlight at the plate saying look its not on. I said officer your spotlights on it a 3 watt bulb isn't going to show up. (he told me not to be a smart ass) The final time he pulled me I got his badge number and filed a complaint with the PD.
I also started taking a back way around him. By the end even the other cops were like .

I just went down and showed insurance and license each time and got the ticket dismissed. The time I got hauled in I am pretty sure that the ticket wasn't there when I went to take care of it and they gave me a piece of paper saying there wasn't a ticket and that I had showed up on the date and time I was supposed to. Well 11 years later I didn't have the paper. When I moved out to where I am now I ran a red light (high yellow) and got a ticket for that. I went in 3 times and the ticket was never there, but I got a piece of paper that said I was there and they signed it again each time I went in. Well it's now 11 years later so I guess I better find that thing. I don't want to sit in a cell again with the smell of stinky feet again.

11 years is well beyond statute of limitations for a "violation"... I don't think you need to worry about it!

Not for a bench warrant for failure to appear in Texas. It was right at 11 years the last time I got to spend some time with high society.

Statute of limitations applies to the time frame you can be charged with a crime. Once you are charged with a crime, ie given a ticket, served notice, summons in lieu of arrest, etc the general statute of limitations no longer applies. (There are other time limitations but not the common statute of limitations everyone refers to). If they issue you a warrant it is good until the judge cancels it. Regardless of age. The criminal or traffic charge will be on hold forever until you get arrested, warrant cancelled, post bond, and set an arraignment date.
