I doubt the Cam sales they have justify the need to bring the grinding of cams in-house.

was pretty funny how when the metal elbows came out, they were claiming that they made them. they were 20 + shipping. in the end they are dorman metal elbows.

they make nothing at zzp from what i see. they are just a over priced middle man.

Go look at Intense then.. at least ZZP has made some custom stuff. .I don't think Intense custom made anything to my knowledge. . Hell even the wbody store drop ships everything they sell.

Anybody who's bought a cam from ZZP has probably seen the comp cams box....right? k

INTENSE used to do their own in house testing and fab work...but a few snafu's about 10 years ago gave ZZP the market majority, and the mud slinging on CGP pretty much gave Zooom all the money, and the power to command what goes on in the market.

Not to mention, John sold intense years ago, and the new owner kinda just dabbles in things compared to what they used to do.

In almost every market on every platform the vendors are just middle men. There are vendors that bring new things to market, but the vast majority of them have the products made by an outside source, however there is no excuse ever for poor communication and poor customer service.

Absolutely not. If you have a guy that is supposed to be handling communication, you'd better make sure that he's doing his job.

I had a bout with a vendor for my Stealth last summer. I ordered a few hundred dollars in stuff. Figured I would get shipping confirmation in a few days. A week later I get an email saying they were going to be unable to send one of the parts and wanted to know how I wanted to proceed. I responded immediately, told them ship everything else, refund me for the part they didn't have and we would be good.

Another week later I still had nothing so I emailed again in case my email got lost. A few days later after no response I sent another email. A few days later I finally sent a PM to a guy who I knew had something to do with ownership. He had the GM call me. I talked to her and she made a bunch of excuses and said, well Andrew told you this (but he didn't say what he told her he said) and we were waiting on this, or whatever. I finally got the crap I ordered, minus the one thing they said they couldn't get, which I ended up getting on eBay anyway.

Seriously, how hard is it to answer an email asking for an update? It wasn't like I was emailing them every hour. Hell I wasn't even emailing every day. I was giving them time. I know sh!t can get busy and hectic, but as part of customer service you have to actually service customer's and their questions.

You mean Scott Cook sold Intense years ago to John?

Also. ZZP bought a supercharger dyno/machine to do testing on what would work on certain S/c's. I've seen some Intense porting of stuff and it looks hideous.

I'm not backing ZZP by any means but it seemed (even back in the day) that intense just sold bolt on stuff and didn't "create" any of their own things other than the Intercooler which from what I remember wasn't that great to begin with.

Yep that's what I heard too. Not sure how much longer intense will be around. The platform is dying .. fast and they don't work on anything other than G8's? At least ZZP moved into Cobalt stuff and the ATS junk.

For the black friday sale I purchased a VS cam and had it several days later. I had pretty good communication with them about a few other questions but I agree they should have notified you of the backorder from Comp Cams.
04 GP GT- top swap, VS cam, 2.8 pulley, E85, headers, 60 injectors, TEP 3:29 trans, Racelogic Traction Control, ZZP dyno tuned.

When I ordered my cam I got it from intense with zero issues among other various orders. I've ordered from both zzp and intense and had zero issues. Sorry you are having issues with them. Not backing either company, just saying usually for me at least it's not been bad to do business with either place.

I just drop by the place. Half hour drive. Calling them sucks. They only do call backs so you have to leave a message and wait. So instead I just drove over there. I'll probably be dealing with them more now that I've got a GP
