Hey fellas, im new to the Pontiac world, just got my hands on a 2006 grand prix supercharged with low ass miles and minor mods, it has, msd ignition, and a cold ram air box from what i can see. not my first f/i car, but not use to all the engine and transmission codes, easiest mods, and the places or items i need to tune as much power from this ride as i can. i am also very familiar with methanol injection, i had it in my subaru sti...any tips will be welcome.

Get rid of the MSD coil packs. Put stock Delcos back in there, you'll thank me later.

Known to cause bad misfires. Ac delco is best as far as coil packs are concerned.

I have MSD coils... I have had them for over 5 years and never had any issues with them. I would not suggest people buy them as they do nothing for performance and their reliability is in question from what others say. If you still have your stock coils, hang on to them. but i dont see any reason to get rid of them if they are working fine. I got mine from a GTP i parted out.

I had them on my car, and within a few months, 1 coil pack split down the middle and caused a nasty misfire. Sent it back and replaced it with a new MSD coil. They worked fine for about a year, but when I pulled them off for my demod, all 3 were cracked and split. I wouldn't even give them away for free.

There really isn't any. The 3800's have a ****ty firing order, and they just don't sound that good.

Best sounding setup I've ever heard on our 3800's was a set of borla mufflers, with headers. No need to get a whole cat-back, since they don't become restrictive until you're pushing big number 350hp+

So, IMO, get a set of Speed-Daddy headers, the clamps/rtv to install them, and have a shop weld in 2 borlas. Had a very deep, almost wet sounding idle, whereas everything else I've heard (with a few exceptions) is just loud and raspy.

You also want to keep a good resonator, as they help greatly with the rasp these engines love to make.

My setup is speed daddy headers to a 2.5" magnaflow race muffler the a glass pack and the split to two tips. Sounds great. But I still think my DOHC sounded better. It's like comparing a NASCAR to a Lamans car...
