Should have kept the GP for parts, like I'm doing. :-) See you at NAIOA.com.

Hey Guys I'm in Gainesville. Really wish someone who knew how to work on my machine lived close. I'm having so many issues that I'm about ready to scrap it.

    1. Drive indicator Light will not come on. If the Light is not on it will not shift out of Park.
    2. The cooling fans will not come on. I have them hotwired right now so that they come on when the ignition is turned on.
    3. Misfire in #3 cylinder. I think I have figured out that I need another coil pack which I have from another motor.
    4. If the car sits idle for more then 3 days the battery is dead. Replaced battery already but still doing it.
    5. Anti- Lock brake light is on. This has been on since I bought the car 4 years ago.

I should mention that the car was bought for my daughter to drive back and forth to school down at GSU. After her first year when she came home she was telling me about it running hot all the time. We took it to a mechanic who said Common Problem with the cars was Intake manifold Gaskets Blowing. Got it fixed (I Thought). A week later she was driving the car and it just lost power. It would turn over but would not fire off. Took it to another mechanic, he took the exhaust off and turned the car over. The car backfired and spewed crap every where. He deteremined that the heads were blown and we would need to rebuild or replace the motor. Well long story is we did not have the money to rebuild but I was able to find a Motor in a Junk yard for a good price but could not afford to have it installed. The car was then donated to me because nether of us could afford to pay for repairs. So the car sat for 3 1/2 years. I finally decided to get it going again so I can have a car that will get better gas mileage than my 17 year old truck. Had a Guy install the Junk yard Motor. The fuel pump went bad from setting. Got that replaced. had to get part of the gas line repalced because it snapped while trying to replace the fuel filter. It seems just when I get something working something else goes wrong. Now you understand my frustration. I got more money in it now than I could ever get out of it but need to get it where I can drive it with gas prices going back up.

I don't think you'd be able to fix it at this point and save any money than you would by driving the truck.

If the anti-lock brake light is on, it means you're probably not getting ABS protection, so you're running a risk there. I had the ABS light come on in my Impala, and had to have the brake computer replaced. That was a few hundred. You're running a junk yard moor, so there's no telling how many parts you can replace before you'll have spent as much as just buying a rebuilt motor.

If the battery keeps dying, you might also have a bad alternator. That's another part.

Try to sell it and buy something else. I'm not far from Gainesville and I'd help if I had the know how, but I'm not sure what all is wrong with your car.

No, never have had a chance. I was going to race against a friend's Mach 1, just to see how close we'd be. But we never could schedule a time.

Can anyone recommend a good pick-n-pull place in the North Georgia area, around Forsyth County? I need to look for some goodies for my GP and Imp.

I'm not a GP guy but I have a Regal GS. I live in Douglasville! I have been thinking of taking it to Injected Engineering to be tuned. Anyone had any luck with other tuners in Atlanta and how much does it normally cost? thanks

Jeff at ENGINEERED PERFORMANCE does a good job but the price is about $500. I am in Mableton close to 6 flags if you are in the area call me and stop by to see the home garage. 770-630-7073

Any good transmission shops that someone can recommend? It appears I've lost overdrive. As much as I don't like putting the money into fixing a car with 173k miles, it would be cheaper to put in a rebuilt transmisison than to buy something new. Especially since I'm now using the car to deliver newspapers. Don't really need OD when I'm delivering, but going to and from the warehouse I do. And, a rebuilt transmission probably will give me another 100k.
