Which Glory Days are we talking about?
Culpeper one.
15295 Montanus Drive
Culpeper, VA 22701
I can't do this Saturday either. And I know I have something planned for July 16 - 19.
Are we gonna do Glory Days or Mountain Run Lake?
MOUNTAIN RUN LAKE PARK
Adjacent to Mountain Run Lake, this park, set in the rolling countryside of western Culpeper County, offers stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Birds, waterfowl and wildlife are abundant and can readily be viewed throughout the year. Only 10 minutes from Downtown Culpeper, this is one of the nicest places to go for a picnic, either under one of the four covered shelters or many other picnic tables. Play areas are provided for children. Mountain Run Lake is a popular fishing lake.
Mountain Run Lake Park
Route 29 South to right on Mountain Run Lake Road (718), go exactly 2.3 miles, on left will be J. B. Carpenter Jr. Drive and the entrance to the lake and park
All the way to Culpepper for Glory Days? Thats a 1 1/2 drive for me. I have one 10 minuntes from the house.
So all our meets have to revolve around where YOU live? There's two of us close to the Culpeper one, and another from Fredericksburg who's close. I'm just throwing it out, since all the other 3800 meets I've gone to or not have been in Fairfax or Towson, MD. I wanted to do something closer for me.
Most of my weekends are booked. Working 2 jobs now, like to have Sundays to get out on the Mountain Bike. I may be down for something this fall.
If we can find a happy medium in distance, I'm game. While I like how close the potiental meet was, it's only fair I suppose to compensate for you way out lefters/righters lol. My first and second Saturdays are booked as I have horse shows... but keep me updated if ya'll figure a solid weekend to work something out
Post up some dates. See if we can get something ironed out.
July 11th, July 18th?
I agree with you. It seems like most get togethers are always in Northern Virginia or Maryland area, where we would have to drive a minimum of an hour + to get to. It would be nice to have something that is closer to our area plus give ppl a chance to get out the city and into the country for awhile. Thats all I'm saying. I am not opposed to finding a place closer to Northern Virginia, I just don't know of any places that would be good for us that live in Fredericksburg, Bealeton and Culpeper. When I had my Maxima and was part of that community we had BBQ's in Rock Creek Park. No it wasn't convienent for me, but I went.
Sorry if I came off as a bit of an ass, but I'm tired of road tripping to MD. I even drove up to New Jersey last year, and only one person showed up. All the other NJ/NY people who had said they would show didn't because it was RAINING. Ugh. No offense to sassygtchick, but I say, "pu$$y." I don't keep my Imp in a garage, and treat it with kid gloves. It gets wet, so driving in the rain doesn't hurt me.
For something a little more central, how about in Manassas? Hard Times off Sudley Rd has a decent parking lot.
I vote for July 18th. I gotta talk to work see if I can get off. Shouldn't be a problem. I think doing the deal at the park would be a little better. Someone bring a grill cook up some burgers or something, depending on turnout.
I say no to the park - too much dependence on someone bringing this, someone bringing that. What if the grill master can't make it? Just my two cents.
I missed the Manassas part. That sounds good to me.
I said the 11th or 18th. I'm not particular to either date. If more will show up on the 11th, all the better.
I'd be more able for the 18th than the 11th. Horse show on the 11th, so I'll vote 18th.
Guess we might need to start a second thread with a poll.
