My intentions are to help... GPONA or GPF.. They both have good content on them. .. But if you feel like it would be a conflict of interest. It's ok I understand. I am just hoping that both Clubs would work together since there are so many members that cross.

how would being a mod on one site and a member of another be a conflict of interest? The object is to grow the community, and have as many resources available as possible

I'm more than positive the admin on GPF are absolutely about growing the community, but I think the question stemmed from the multiple ways that could be taken:
    Gearhead43
    Quote:
Rick... I just PM people for their emails.... Once I get their emails, I send out the URL to them... IMHO.. Mike N. has no business knowing how many people I have brought over from either ClubGP or GPF
It could be taken as he is trying to have people leave GPF and ClubGP in favor of GPONA (in addition to being a mod there).

I'm assuming Gearhead43 meant he was emailing people on ClubGP and then giving them the url, as he would not have to do that in secret on this site and I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of the multiple forums available here. The GPF admins have made it more than clear that members are free to come and go as they please and are in no way trying to harm any other forum. They have also stated that the sharing of info is positive all around.

I am a member on all 3 (30+ carsites total). Pretty equal amount of time spent on GPF and CGP, sometimes at the same time. I occassionally stop in to check out GPONA.

Just to add to the above comment, Gearhead put his name in the hat as a mod here on this forum, and that could be viewed by some as a conflict of interest. I know that does not matter to most people, however in the end its just to protect Gearhead. If there ever is a falling out between any of the forums, it does not put him in a weird position.

I am all about sharing information and if members here want to be members somewhere else, thats great, but please keep in mind that if you are posting links to other sites, whether its a PM or a post, that your doing it for the right reasons....IE helping answer questions.....If your posting links just to get your hit count up, or trying to draw users to your site, then thats SPAM.......Trust me, we have had a few people PM the Admins, because of people doing this.

General Rule of thumb.....dont advertise for the competion, but if the competition has something you dont, be nice and make a referal, and they may do the same for you.

As I have said many times before, I welcome anyone to this forum who wants to be positive and help the community.....if your out for drama, please, let me refer you to one of the other forums.

Your right, one can not predict the future.. I was not dead set in stone on becoming MOD on GPF because I felt like I had to.. I was simply offering help..
. It would not upset me if I was turned down. I understand the reasoning..

The admins here are right. Because I was a mod on GPONA. Untill someone from my past join'd and ran there mouth and I got De Modd'd. Here is another point to GPONA is a spin off from cgp like this site is. So why have a mod here thats a mod over there. Because that same mod could try to lure members from one site to the other. I'm still registered at gpona but stopped posting and joined here. I felt that I would be more helpful here then there. So I want to toss my name in for mod here when the time come's. Thanks for reading this post.

I would be glad to help if needed. I'm no w-body expert but I have several years of professional detailing expirience.. so that would probably be the best fit or the lounge. I've been member on about all of the f-body/ls1/lt1/ls2 boards with thousands of posts. I've never been a mod and I doubt I will be needed here but just thought I would offer to help out. It's the least I could do to help return the favor for all the great information I get from here.

I offered myself to be a mod. I am not a mod on CGP. Plus I am on here 2 - 3 times a day surfing almost all the threads. I think this site is a great site and hope to see it grow and keep the respectfull atmosphere it offers.

not sure where i would be suited to mod, but i am willing to help out in anyway possible.

if u are interested in me helping, get with me, and i will be glad to help. as i have told scotty, if it werent for this forum, as well as others, and the people on them, i would no longer have my GP. and i know many others may be in that situation. so i would like to help out if need be and make sure that everything runs smoothly, and that all members can get advice and opinions with out high-school BS ruining the boards and keeping members we want from being active.

I'm up for it. I am just coming over here from GPONA.(I still like that site, but this one seems to have more technical help). I am a mechanic, and currently doing a six-speed swap in my Grand Prix. I have a lot more crazy stuff in the works.
