I don't understand. If you can't tune , why mod?
It goes hand in hand. The more you know about how your car and how to tune it , the better you are at answering your questions...
Your at the mercy of a mail order tune. It would be wise to stick to what they are saying.

I personaly don know how to tune but have a friend who tunes my car and is good at it. But he doesnt have the tuning maps for this cam hense why i asked if anyone had it.. So im getting the canned tune to get the car at least driveable until i can get my guy to give it the actual tune im planning on..

from what i hear tek seems to say his runs pretty dec on a canned tune.. Id suppose zzp would know its their cam and im sure they have done hundreds of tunes on these...

Maybe what I don't understand , is your understanding , of tuning.

    What are these "maps" ?

sorry was drinkin last night.. Fuel tables Settings for Timing,Idle,OPEN LOOP, Maf settings etc etc etc... thats what i was looking for obviously no one here has a definitive answer so the most logical thing would be to get the canned tune and then tune it from there...

Why have someone do the guess work when you can do it yourself with your own data taken directly from your car ?
Your aiming for a certain goal. So you add and subtract until the goal is met.
So if if they send you a tune skewed by +15% , how are you going to know?
Saying you will order a canned tune and then make adjustments on your own contradicts itself.

It sounds like you just want to copy and paste tunes. What works on car B will work on car A, isnt true.
I would ask someone else locally to tune if your friend isn't capable of a few scans and adjustments in a days work.

3.4 and 3.2 is what I had in my 12.0 setup I recently tuned. Ran the 3.2 on a bit of octane booster.

Race gas is a massive upgrade in horsepower.... You can easily gain 30-50whp with a decent race gas on non intercooled cars. In the typical turbo world there is upwards of 200whp available just switching fuels.

I don't understand. If you can't tune , why mod?
Stupid. There are more than enough cars in my town here that bring them to me to "tune" and I say that their cammed out crazy **** is working just fine and that its pointless for me to spend even a few minutes trying to jimmy rig something to make another 2whp or something.

So if if they send you a tune skewed by +15% , how are you going to know?
As said before, stock settings work fine, nobody would be this dumb.

It sounds like you just want to copy and paste tunes. What works on car B will work on car A, isnt true.
Also dumb. How do you think GM gets away with letting cars out of the plant on "copy and paste" tunes?

Hey Scott, got time slips or any physical proof with those setups?

    Like, maybe a tune?

    I'll wait.

Its because you are wrong, and you have never even tuned a car before....

I have been doing this for 6 years now.

I dont need to "prove" to you that I know what I am doing, sorry.

I never tuned a car? That's pathetic you resort to saying that. I have more credits/licenses under my HPT than you I bet

You probably were dumb enough to pay for tuning 3800s as I have had a DHP for years, and flashed over 1000 times.

Im kind of in a different situation with my car my tuner lives about 2 and a half hours away from me i was going to have him tune my pcm to at least run to get down to him hense why i started this thread in the first place.. Next thing i know im being attacked because i dont know how to tune my own car.. I dont need to know how to tune my own car i have a friend who will do that for me very happily i might add. As i mentioned the problem i have is He has never Tuned a NIC cam and unless the car was directly in front of him he wouldnt know for sure where to start as far as a basic tune to get the car to run..

So again I ordered the canned tune from zzp simply because its a starting point i dont expect the car to perform for **** nor do i have high expectations that they are going to get it perfect. If it will at least start and be safe to drive to my tuner then that is exactly what my expectations are. I understand its all nice and great to know how to tune your own car but when you have a guy you can trust that has tuned many cars and you only have to pay a reasonable amount of money to. Im going to trust that guy over myselfe who knows nothing any day...

So again i came here looking for advise from people who have tuned these things and didnt get the help i was looking for exactly.. If i Knew anything i wouldnt be asking for help...

zzp has additional fuel and spark tables to adjust for the overlap with the nic cam to make the car run better than with their base tune. so yes getting the canned tune is going to help his tuner, and it will perform fine for what he wants at the moment.

Then I wouldnt listen to the armchair internet trolls like "crazyguy" and "blue"... I have tuned many as i stated earlier and you will be more than fine if you follow my direction (which does not involve making fun of the fact you dont want to tune your own car).
