    so im trying to install a new cold air intake and i take out my air filter housing and attached to the bottom portion of the filter is a box with wires im thinking its the pcm maybe??? but im not sure what to do with it i could maybe strap it to the frame but im not sure if its supposed to be in that box to keep it from being damaged by the heat in the engine compartment any info that would help me would be greatly appreciated thanks

    Correct its the PCM.

    Its weather proof and for the most part shock proof, just take it out and lay it there, zip tie it down if you want to.
