Hello everybody. This is my first post in this forum. Sorry, still not too sure how everything works, but I'll get the hang of itAnyway, hate to start off my introduction with a problem, but here it is. I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP with about 140,000 miles completely stock. It has been running fine the past several months. In December, I recently changed the fuel filter, air filter, plugs, and wires, (can't remember the brands), and the car has been running great. However, I started having problems about 2 weeks ago. Recently, my check engine light has come on, the car will hesitate, and sometimes completely die if I gave it gas. It's strange though, the tach will suddenly DROP about 500 RPMS to completely dead if I give the gas a quick "hit," but will not hesitate at all if I first "baby" the accelerator to about 2500 RPM or so and then I accelerate as hard as I like. It will go without hesitation, but it feels like it lacks a lot of power. This occurs both in park and in gear. Anyway, I scanned it and it read the code "po102" mass air or volume circuit, so I assumed it was the MAF sensor, and I replaced it. Still had the check engine light on and same driving symptoms. I then replaced it with another MAF, and encountered the exact same thing. I checked all the wires and everything looks good. Just about ready to pull my hair out here!
