    Okay.

Yes you can just drop to a 3.4, no one is stopping you.

Is the motor going to be happy?

    No.

These car has KR (knock retard) from the factory, you are only going to make it worse by adding more air that the car already struggles to get out. So in a short time, you will grenade the motor and be looking for a junkyard one and saying to yourself "why did that happen".

So if you want to drop pulley sizes you must do it the right way. Flow mods first, like headers for example.

Read around on this forum, you will learn why its a big deal to add flow before you add air.

The different between 3.4 and 3.5 is so minimal, both are still not doing the motor good.

Stock is 3.8, stick with that for now, untill you get some flow mods.

Thats the theory anyway. All cars act different to mods.

Intake, headers, 605 AL spark plugs and a 3.5 "should" be safe.

Messing with the catback system does nothing by the way.

    maybe 20-40hp.

But it will feel faster once the exhaust is opened up because the car can breath.

Nope, changing the mufflers or removing the resonator will not help at all.

    You have 2 options.

Either buy a Powerlog front manifold and a 3in downpipe or go straight to some SS Auto Chrome headers. Both will run you about the same cost. But headers will always be the better choice.

Just do some reading and you'll figure it all out.
