Ok I got the radio installed and it looks and sounds great! Here are some pics:

I need to get some sort of adapter for the stock antenna to fit the radio antenna socket. Also this mount was a PITA, the pieces snap when you try to put them together, but it still worked out.

The adapter you need should be less than 10 bucks at wal-mart.

I just installed the new 6x9"s and new 4" speakers. All I can say is AMAZING! The difference is substantial. This setup really adds 5 tweeters to the rear deck, giving crystal clear highs and some added bass, with muss less distortion.

I can only hope the front speakers make that much of an impact as well!

To those who said that 6x9's will not make a difference:

    Da f you talkin' about?

Here are the four speakers I installed today:

The Kickers give the car good clear bass and mids ($89.99), while the Kenwood's give super sharp high's and mids ($29.99).

Thanks to everyone that has contributed so far. The Morel Maximo component set is next.

Nice... glad to hear that you're happy with your investment. WARNING: you are on a very slippery slope... the audio bug is an extremely ravenous creature.

Are you running them like that off the HU, or are they aftermarket amped or factory amped?

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

What was your impedance (ohms) of the speakers you took out? The reason Im asking is because you're possibly running a 2ohm load to the deck. Im just trying to prevent you from blowing channels on your new HU.

Weird. If you dont have a factory amp, they must be factory wired in series so the radio sees 8ohms. But if that were the case, they should have installed 2ohm speakers from the factory. Anywho, you're all good.....carry on

I had a Olds 98 that had all 4 doors setup that way then it had rear deck speakers too. It was ran in series. Both Left doors were the front L and both Right doors Front R. That car sounded good with a set of 10's in it. I kinda miss that car.

How much power do you guys think my HU sends each speaker? I have 8 speakers (including tweeters).

10 to 15 when it's ballz out. But uh....you'd be surprised at how LITTLE power speakers actually receive even if you think you have 8.2 jigawatts worth of amplification
    11 is louder than 10!

so I need an amp. I was thinking this one for the 6x9's and fronts Sound Ordnance™ M-4075 4-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com

and maybe one for the 4" speakers.

That amps shows to be 2 ohm stable (as long as its not bridged) You could just parallel your rear 6x9s and 4's and you wont need another amp.
