My mother took my new baby to the grocery store and she called me because it would not start. The key pad will not unlock the doors, there is not any interior lights, when i put the key in the ignition and turn the normally red light on the radio flashes yellow and stays solid when i hold it to start. The remote start has worked fine for me all week and so has the keyless entry. The car is stuck in the parking lot and a snow storm is on its way... please help

    greatly appreciated!

Yes... stooopid me alternator will make it seem normal. Its weird because I can turn the wheel while its in park and keys out. A dead battery would cause the antitheft light to change colors on the radio? Im heading back up there and going to mess around a little more.. its just so freaking cold and its like a blizzard right now

The guy i bought it from said he replaced the battery three times... original owner.

I found this ... Auto Theft Prevention: car wont start/anti theft system/205 grand prix, theft deterrent system, gm dealer

You sir are a genius... Its stuck in the grocery parking lot with a bad battery. Im angry not even a week and a problem pops up. Good ole GTP saved my mom from the dead GXP lol

I tried jumping it and couldnt get it to turn over... horn started honking and dash lights started flashing. I also noticed battery cables had a sh1t ton of corrosion on the terminals and the neg cable wasnt secured tightly. While trying to jump it the highest the volts got to on the display was 13.05.

    99 GTP 176k miles owned since 03
    07 GXP 193k miles! owned a week

just curious if you tried cleaning and tightening the battery cables? loose connections will do something like that.

Nope I didn't do anyting like that because it was in a dark parking lot. Im going to head up there in a few. What is the correct group size and cold crank? I've read theres been some confusion between group 34 and 85. I went to advanced auto parts and they tried selling this group 35. I don't know much about them any with some insight? http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_RedTop&174-Starting-Battery-Optima-Batteries_16940003-P_2916_R|GRPBATTAM2_1373115295___#fragment-2
