I have a 94 GP sedan. I have found a HUD out of GP coupe (both cars have the same engine). I am wanting to hook it up in my car but the the sedan models were not wired for a HUD. The only way that it can be hooked up is to swap out the whole wiring harness and i relly don't want to do that it will take so long. So my question is, If i get the wiring harness that has the wires for the HUD can i cut the other wires that are not used for the hud and just splice them into the stock wiring harness. All the wires in the car run throw the fire wall behind the glove box so it wont be hard to splice them in there. Just let me know if this is a good idea if i should just run the whole wiring harness. Thanks for all your help.

all this work for a hud? hell i dont really even like mine all that much and ur about to cut up a wiring harness for it? i dont know to answer your question but im assuming the computer plays a part in the hud or at least the cluster so im not seeing that working out for u but record your findings if it does work so you can add it to the how to section as someone else maybe crazy enough to want to do it too

Lol, it does sound a lil craze but i think it would be BA to have a hud. The computers all look the same but u maybe right in saying that they are all programmed different. Ill post a thread later to see if anybody knows if all the computers i the 94-96 GPs are the same.
The way I see it, is that all the engine sencors run to the computer and then from there to the insterment panel (and the hud). So i would think all the computers are the same, but i could be wrong. I find out for sure before i state cuttin. I just want to make sure that if i cut the wires there at the base it wont screw anything up.

but the cluster may control the hud too..again idk but it has to play some kinda part..see if the wiring to those are the same as that may yeild your answer..if they are different then try swapping just the consule and hud and see what happens as itll probebly work.

So are u sayin that the hud may get power and run off the gauge cluster instead of the wires runnin from the strat of the wiring harness??? I should deffently look into that. I need to go to the junk yard and tear out the dash, so i can c exactly were all the wires go. Plus that will give me some practice before i take my dash out.
