The 03 is different and WILL NOT work in your 01 without swapping to an 03 PCM.
I can't believe how many people are giving advice in the transmission forum without that critical and well known piece of information.

Both. GM changed the design of the EPC solenoid for the 03 model year, and the earlier PCMs can't control it correctly.

yup this guy. the 03 tranny is from the 04+ body style guys. They switched tranny styles a year early
