I was wondering if anyone has heard of OBX headers. I found a couple of people on ebay selling a few different brand headers (i.e. pace setter, OBX, etc). I looked for a thread but couldn't find it. Thanks.

    ...you couldnt find it? really?

well, if youre still completely lost, they suck. buy them only if you want to cut and reweld them.

i think minichopper6 is the only one that has OBX headers on his vehicle, and he had to modify them to make them fit. whatever you do, don't get the speed daddy ebay headers that are pacesetter knockoffs. trust me...

no i couldn't find it. i did a search, but it brought up a whole bunch of pages that don't have anything to do w headers, just that the word header was used in the thread somewhere. i'll look some more when i'm not at work i guess. hahah. so pacesetters are the way to go? or are there no real gains w headers?

if you want a set that will bolt up first try and go then get SSAC. they are cheaper than pacesetters now anyway.

I have magnaflow exhaust I like it sounds good a few other on here run magnaflow aswell
SSAC's are the cheapest headers that fit there were also some ssac knock offs on ebay but theres a bit of drama concerning the seller so id just stick with the real ones

WHen you do the exhaust you can leave the resonator on or take it off but most will say it makes the exhaust sound like crap with it removed...

98 gtp sedan forest green ,S1X intense cam,Intense pcm,Magnaflow exhaust, ubend delete,TEP trans 3.29's,3.4 smoothflow mps,Dyno'd 281hp and 371ft #'s of trq at the wheels

yea i heard that the res has to stay on, i actually took it off, cuz it had a hole in it, and i just had a new cat put on, and found a couple of leaks, that's why i'm looking at headers and exhaust. the resonator def has to be put back on. i like a nice tone to exhausts, not a tin sound. is the magnaflows really loud? or a nice/or no tone at idle?

i think the magnaflows arent that nice sounding, but then again nothing is on these cars because you cant fix firing order.

true you are limited by the basic mecahanical properties of the engine, i was just concered that it would be obnoxious (like some ricers). a small exhaust note wont bother me (i got a 69 camaro that is loud, especially rolling in at 3 am from the bars) haha.

When i go turbo it will be 3" dp, to 3" cutout, to 3" cat bolted to a stock catback. Nice and quiet normally, the flow is there when i need to beat some cars with the cutout.

yea i'm thinking i may use my stock exhaust, w headers. is there any gains? i plan on doing some other mods as well, but figured i'd start with headers/exhaust. maybe a smaller pulley, and a tune? i'm not looking for a huge gain, something around 20-40hp.

Just installed my SSAC's and they fit and sound great. Excellent quality at the price, or twice. You might consider getting your blower ported also.

Got them from thier website for $350 shipped. Got em' quick too. I had already installed a SLP catback several years ago and everything bolted right up. My only installation issues were -

    1. Needed an O2 extension harness - sourced from ZZ performance
    2. Had to "modify" tranny tunnel with a hammer for clearance for front O2 sensor.
    3. Front header hit my driver side cooling fan shield, removed shield and replaced with a "short" shield from a pass side fan.

All in all I'm happy with the performance increase and the sound. Yes it's louder, but not too loud. Definitely does'nt sound "rice", it has a nice growl to it.

BTW these are Stainless steel, no matter what it says on their site, and all the welds are very nice quality Tig welds. I've heard people gripe about the U-bend at the bottom but my car is lowered 1" and I've have'nt bottomed it out yet.

Ok so as far as the speed daddy headers I can't find the ssca's any where (sugestions?) so what exactly do you have to cut and reweld for the obx's to fit?
