See, I told you that it works! And normally all the people you bring with you are treated really well, too, even if they don't do the same thing...

I dont think anyone said they dont tip the delivery guy. The question was how much? I tipped 25%, someone here said I shouldve tipped 8 bucks on a 20 dollar order.
My solution was the heck with the place. I get my wings at a different place on my way home now. They los a customer due to the lousy attitude of getting a 25% tip.

A couple people said they dont like tipping delivery guys. A crappy attitude because you only got a 25% tip is one thing. Not tipping any delivery guy and saying get a better job is another. Thats like telling janitors and other McDonalds workers to get better jobs. Who ends up giving you your big mac and clean up your mess?

I implied in my first post that I don't tip the delivery guy. BUT, I was stupid and apparently can't read. I THOUGHT that person meant the UPS/Fed Ex type delivery guy. I was mistaken. And I do tip for food delivery. Sorry for the confusion on my part.

I agree, I have no prblem tipping a delivery person. Even when the shop charges a delivery fee I still tip. Now on the other hand I do have an issue tipping the starbucks or dunkin donuts drivethrough window person. McDonalds/burger king employees dont get tips what makes a starbucks employee think they deserve one for handing me a coffee? lol

I go to Starbuck once sometimes twice a day. They know who I am when I pull up to the menu (camera). If it's cold, I get hot cocoa, if it's warm, I get a tall mocha frap. They know me and my order and they are the most friendliest people anywhere I've been. I tip in the summer(we have more $$). They act like they dont hate their job. One night, it was cold and my window reg was broke on my GP. Bad weather kept me from driving the TA or my truck. I had to drive Troy's truck. For some reason, it HATES me. It died in the drive thru and wouldnt start. I was so embarassed, I cried, right there in the drive thru. They all leaned out the window and gave me a hug. My friend came and jumped me. It never died again. Can't figure it out.

Well dont get me wrong. I am not a cheap SOB. matter of fact I like to tip, but I tip when I get friendly service or when someone goes above and beyond what they are required to do. I have an issue when peple "expect" a tip.
Like baggage handlers. I worked with a guy who use to be one and he said he cleared 35k in tips a year, he said some guys got way more. Thats tax free money, dang! As much as I hate to I tip them, dont need my luggage going to Hawaii and me to NY LOL

WOW! I just found my new calling. Raising these kids don't pay well. Not much fun either. I see your point. No one should Expect anything.

Yeah but that job is seniority. Those guys have the most that do the curb side check in. The tip $$ is the reason why. I thought it was a bunch of BS until I did the math. Think about it, everyone throws 3-5bucks in the hat. How many people drive up in an hour and check in? Now multiple and figure out the daily, the weekly, monthly, yearly. Yeah WOW!

You gave him a 15% tip. I wouldn't worry about it. Most people in the service industry are usually pissed when you give them a 20% tip but I won't give any more. 20% for excellent service 15% for good service, 10% for acceptable, and nothing if they screw everything up.
debadged, clear corners, 20% tint, tinted tails, vibrant performance tips, red painted calipers, Fig. grills, autometer guages, PFYC 3 pod A pillar, SLP CAI, 2.5" DP, SD Hood, SD front air damn, Gen I spoiler, 17X8 Borbet Type M rims, engine upgrades soon!

Well actually the order was 18.78, we were charged 1.50 for a delivery fee which the shop said goes to the driver. So he got 4.50 on an 18.78 order which is a 24% tip. We usually give 5 bucks and our order is smaller. So I guess its the attitude not the tip ammount that is an issue. Since we always tip well, the one time and first time I dont he gets an attitude? Hence the shop losing our business permanently. Plenty of people work very hard for lousy pay and never get a tip for doing their job. I just hate people who expect a tip. A tip is not a requirement nor is there any written rule. A tip is a bonus and you earn it by going above and beyond what is required. Wether its a pleasant greeting, politeness, being fast, or taking a little extra time to make sure a customer is happy. When you are in the service business it is about pleasing the customer, not the other way around.
And someone refered those of us who order as "lazy a$$es" for not getting off the couch? I have a 70-80 hr a week job and want to get home to my wife and kids. So accasionally I order to save me time and my wife from cooking. The way I see it If "lazy a$$es" such myself didnt order the delivery guy wouldnt have a job at all. Thats my .02 and I am putting this topic to bed!!

I didnt call you a lazy ass. It was a general statement. However, if you want to get into a who has a harder life, we can surely fire away. Im sure I can compete if not beat your 80 hours a week and coming home to kids situation.

What is your probelm and who is battling you? Who said their life was harder than you? If you want to pick a fight go to the other forum. We dont need that crap here. Making such a nonsense challenge at who's life is harder is very childish and imature. Dont assume you know me or my life. I dont assume to know yours. In case you didnt notice its a soap box forum to vent not to invite challenges. Try and relax a little.
