Thanks turbocharged400sbc. Turns out that the 99 buick lesabre CS144s uses ignition field sense to an indicator light instead of our hookup that uses the pcm and class 2 data to monitor and activate charging. I unfortunately ended up burning out my voltage regulator before I realized this, but the "F" wire goes to the ignition wire (pink wire under driver's side dash) connected with a 200 Ohm resistor and a 10 amp fuse. Eventually I'll run an indicator light in parallel to the resistor so I have a charge light again, but that would involve me caring about having a charge light...

Good news is that everything works perfect, but I had to fry an alternator to find out... hope this helps someone!
