Now I realized why letting air in the bleeder isn't a problem. The coolant getting pulled toward the water pump comes from the bottom hose on the radiator, so even if the bleeder sucked in air for some reason, it would just be pushed into the top of the radiator.

I'll bleed it like you recommended today.
