    Neither did mine.. until I did the valve springs and I figured "hey.. might as well since we're in there".
    03 GS - SSAC, AEM wb, PT,SR rockers, Gen 3, 3.4, dynotech trans w/ 3.29's.

    it does seem to be the right thing to do. why i changed mine. i did rockers and springs. how often are we that close to that little pos part.

    Back to the top. Since this thread a year ago I've re-done the exhaust valves 3-4 more times. The last time I got some new felpros from rock auto. Put a small thing of red locktite on all of the exhausts up front and only did one on the back.

    After I put them on (weeks later) I found the box and saw the "condom" in the box .

    Oh.. btw, it's smoking again. So it looks like I'll be pulling the covers again and looking at which ones popped off. I'm sorta hoping it's the rears that popped off that I didn't change.

    ugh.

    wait, so you railed the seals over the lock indents of the stems? you likely messed up the seals and thats why they keep popping off.

    i used the plastic condom and i also oiled the condom and the valve stem so it slid on nice and smooth. you cut the condom a 1/4 inch past the lock.

    iirc, they gave me two rubbers lol per seal kit.

    Yeah. I didn't use the condom thingy. Just pushed them on and tapped the rest with an 11 mm socket.

    So wait. Put the condom on the valve, lube that up and I'm not sure what you mean by cutting 1/4" down past the lock? I'm assuming you pull it off once you're done and move on to the next one?

    iirc its to long. directions or someone said cut it. ive done seals two times now. neither set has popped, installed how i stated both times. bottom part of the head where it grips on i made sure was clean and dry.
