I currently have a 2000 grand prix daytona 500 edition and the transmission is just about to take its last breath at a moment's notice. So tomorrow I will be getting a 2002 grand prix se 4dr sedan and I was wondering if the trunk and hood from the 2000 would fit on the 2002? I would assume they would being in the generation. And I was also wondering if the 2000 roof rails would fit on the 2002? Being the 2002 is longer because of the 2 extra doors not sure if it does. And lastly are there any interchangable parts (other than the engine parts) that would fit the 2002? Eg.... water pump, radiator, power steering pump, etc....

Any information is useful please and thank you

Pretty much everything is interchangeable. wheel base was the same, trunks and hoods were the same, rails seem to be the same from everything I've read. exhaust, fuel tank, strut tower bars... wait.. gp never got those lol. you get what I'm saying though. it's all going to be the same.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

So everything as far as engine bay components, such as power steering etc.. being the 2000 is a s/c 3.8 and the 2002 is a 3.1 (I'm pretty sure, I haven't looked under the hood yet though)

I am currently doing the same thing, I have both engines pulled. This is what I have found so far, the down pipe for the exhaust is different the 3.1 mount to the manifold the both holes are at an angle where as the 3.8 is at 3 and 9 positions. The exhaust need to come from the 3.8 car as the SE only has one muffler. The AC compressor and lines will need to be used from the 3.8 as the 3.1 is different. The power steering lines will need to be modified some as the 3.1 pump is located on the top of the engine. The hoses can not me changed as the lines mount in different locations on the rack and pinion.
The fuel lines need to come from the S/C car and grafted to the new body as the SE 3.1 end in a different location. Need the fuel pump out of the 3.8 car to the SE I am not sure about the wiring to the fuel pump as I have not got that far yet. The air box, computer, overflow tank and radiator needs to be from the 3.8.

The wiring I have not compared the engine bay fuse box yet but this needs to be done so you do not burn something up.

The trans will bolt up to the 3.8 but I have been told the 3.1 trans will not last long if you keep your foot in it alot as the 3.8 S/C has a HD trans.

Good luck hope all goes well I will be dropping the 3.8 into the SE this weekend I will let you know anything else I run into.

Thanks man I appreciate the very useful information. I think I would be better off just using some exterior pieces and just leave the 3.8 where it is and just replace trans. When I can scrape up a couple thousand, most likely tax time, and yeah I wouldn't trust putting in the 4t65e in if it isn't the hd my foot tends to get heavy when there is a nice car beside me (which is probably why it went out to begin with lol) and how embarassing would it be if I were to try to keep up with the little guy and next thing you know I'm doing 60-0 in 6.7 sec. But yeah keep me informed on your progress you have me very intregued.
