I'm gonna be getting roof rails for my 06 gt.. I have a couple questions.. 1st one is, is it worth it to modify them to fit the actual length instead of leaving them short? And I'm really trying to figure out if I wanna put them on with my fresh paint or not.. Opinions? Thanks

If your going to do it, then do it right and lengthy them to fit.

Definitely get some fresh paint but the fit is only a centimeter or two... It wasn't worth it for me so I just slapped them on there and they look great

Everyone always checks out my rails because they fit like stock after modifying them over and over. It's up to you if you think it's worth the trouble. The gap was not acceptable to me.

This. It's definitely worth it to lengthen them.
2004 Comp G "The Panda"- low, e85, big brakes SOLD
2002 Trans Am- 6 speed, bolt ons or something, it's slow.
2006 Silverado- forged ls2, 4l80e, plate kit, also slow...

I'm not sure if you finished the project yet but in case some one wants this for future reference

This is on an 04. The gap is minimal. It wasn't enough for me to extend them.
