I have noticed that im loosing coolant somewhere. I will add coolant and, when i come back the level in the bottle is noticeably lower, this has happened several days in a row.
Is there a simple way to determine where in the cooling system im loosing coolant? I know i can buy a radiator for rather cheap, ($60), but i dont want to spend the money unless i need to.
are there any problem spots on these cars for leaks?

My last Monte blew a head gasket because i had a leak i didnt know about, its definitely not something i want to happen again.

If this is a 3800, look at the coolant elbows. Also make sure the rubber hose from overflow to radiator isn't rubbed through by the belt.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks, i went ahead and ordered a coolant bottle since this is a 97 and i need to change to a new style bottle for the intake anyway.
If i dont see any leaks, i might just go ahead and order the Radiator anyway.

pressure test your cooling system, way cheaper then tossing parts at it aimlessly.

did a pressure test the radiator is cracked :/. the coolant bottle on the 97 gtp is right behind the headlight on the drivers side, unlike the other wbodies where its on the passenger side by the alternator. It blocks the intake from using the opening behind the headlight to pull in air. most of the aftermarket CAI pull from the headlight opening (so ive seen) unless you go fender. im just going to put a stock newer year intake on it gut it and stick a cone inside.

i got a 98, same bottle all hidden in the rad support. slap a 30 dollar home made cone filter on there and call that done. theres no real gains from any intake your gonna buy.

i got a spare 01 box myself id sell. shipping costs cant be fun tho.

try to see if it will fit in a USPS 2-day medium flat rate box since that box is only $12.95

thats not to bad. and pretty sure stock air boxes take air from the side of the fender, not the head light area.

97 takes it from the fender and later years it was positioned right behind the headlight
