somethings not right, i dont think its the starter any more.

will it work if you jump the starter in the car. screw driver to the large and small studs that have wires on them. connect them with the screw driver, yes it will spark, hold it there.

if you leave the key to run it should fire up.

I already yanked the battery out and I'll take it somewhere to have them measure what kind of power it's putting out. I feel like the starter is not getting quite enough juice to run it. The fact that it started up again right after driving it and then wouldn't 20 minutes later makes me think it's a power thing now.

Threw the new battery in (turns out the old one was bad) and tried to start it. The car has more power now but the starter still punches the flex plate. I went ahead and jumped the starter and wala it started right up after scaring the crap out of my sister lol. So I shut it off and tried to jump it again but it was a no go.....However this time around the key worked. So I let it run a bit and shut it off. Then after turning it off the key didn't work again so I jumped the starter and it worked again. Should I try smothering all the wires down there in dielectric grease or where should I go from here?

Sounds like the ignition switch went dead.

    not really.

truth is its for a regal, not sure it will work in a gp. i got the whole column for 20 bucks, used more then 1/2 its parts, the wheel airbag, clock spring.

the multi switch, key and tumbler and harness are all just waiting for the day i hope dont come......

that was a stand out day for car parts, the column, the spoiler, and the center tail light for 60 bucks. i did drive to philly to get em, but well worth it.

The whole thang. To be fair my old harness had some other wires spliced into it (what appeared to be power, grounds, etc) but I'm not sure what for. So should I splice those in to or?
