I've got a 2006 grand prix. its got a Kenwood DNX6960 radio deck installed. today i was doing some routine maintenence which required me to disconnect the battery. well i reconnected the battery and now my radio stays on all the time, even with key off-door open. im not really sure what i could of done to cause this. any ideas?

Happened to my friend once. I think it's a headunit related issue.

We fixed it by installing an inline switch on the 12v power wire and hid it somewhere. We couldn't figure out anything and we suspected the battery disconnection to have shorted something internally in the headunit. Was cheaper to do this than to replace it.

Yes, I later diagnosed it to being the interface unit behind my radio. Somehow disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it let to the module shorting out and staying on all the time. I wired in a new interface unit and that solved my problem.
