yea, we have a thread about the G8 Firehawk on here somewhere... the consensus was they are ruining the name. I like the car to be honest. It looks pretty sweet, but when I think Firehawk I think the Trans Am, and only the T/A.

The 1998-2002 Trans Am WS6 is my all time favorite car. It is my dream car and I WILL have one! To me it is the only car that bears the right to hold the Firehawk name. I picked a good dream car, haha. One that is actually obtainable for people.

I feel that the G8 Firehawk is a last ditch effort to get the sales pumping on the thing. They are just going to slap badges around on cars to boost the sales. Do I blame them? Absolutely not, I'd do the same thing if I were running the company. I just feel the new badge of the G8 isn't to keep a heritage alive, it's just to make money. If it wasn't I'm sure they could've thrown another name on the side of it. I dont know... the G8 Firedog could have worked even.

I've had several opportunities to get my Trans Am, and never did because I'm waiting for the PERFECT one! When it will cross my path I don't know. I do know it should start becoming a reality in about 3-4 years.

I could be wrong but I thought the G8 was like the come back of the "new ta" I know its more less a four door gto! But I was reading something about that they would never come back out with the trans am/firebird it was going to be the G8 GT or G8 Firehawk. I don't know! lol But I agree with you on when you think firehawk you see a purrty TA! LOL Kinda like the whole Cobalt SS....4cy...rmm When I think SS I think of a LS1!

eh, I like the SS badge on the Cobalt, if it had Z28 then I'd be disappointed, I'd be ok with Z24 though

Well, I have been wondering the same now for a while. A 2002 T/A WS6 would be a top choice for me. They can be found under 20k and if ya dump 5 - 10k into it, well you have quite the american muscle car for under 30K total into the ride. A C5 ZO6 is another possibility, I've seen them for about 30-35K nicely modded to awesome HP numbers, BUT If I went brand new I'd wait for the Z-28 to come out.

i cant say for sure but i dont beleive there is a z28 version.
only the v6 "RS" and the SS
which look very similar except wheels/engine/front air dam
dont quote me on that but thats my take on it.
i could rattle off the dif between the 98-02 alllll day long
