It is my car, I am just allowing her to drive it, for now.

I drive about 100 miles round trip to work, so when her cars get some miles on it and we get a new one, I start driving her old one. We do that so I don't whack the mileage on the new car. The 02 GP that I am retiring is a 3.1 SE, if it was a 3.8 I would be tempted to rebuild it and mod it. Maybe my 06 GT when it gets retired. This GXP was just too good a deal for me to pass up. It had 46,000 miles and I gave $9,000. I had to fix a lot of hail damaged. Most of it was PDR and the hood replaced. When it gets retired, I may just refresh it for my toy. The Mustang was her driver until she got a job teaching in a different city. That car is not built for the miles that a GP can do and the 06 got a good deal, so I detail the Mustang, put it in the garage and cover it. We take it out on dates (with each other ) and drive it to church on Sundays. If the weather is good of course, it has not seen a drop of rain in 5 years. The Mustang is her dream car, mine is a 70 1/2 Z28. I had one when I was 16. Since I could never find one now nor afford it if I did, and since I have had so many GP, now the GXP may fill that role.

Now when we bought the GXP I had to check the laws to see if its legal for a 60 something great grandmother to drive one.

Need some advice. Yesterday, I found a project car, 97 GP GT. Just thinking out loud here and if it sounds stupid then let me know, like that would be an issue with this bunch. I would like to start a thread for suggestions on mods and enhancements. Not as much how to do them, there are lots of those, but more on planning what to do. Where should I start this thread, what should the title be, and should I even try? It's is hard for me to mod a car I have to depend on as a daily driver. Now if I play with some pcm reprogramming and burn a hole in a piston, I am not walking to work. Remember it's 100 miles round trip. I guess I would be in shape.

Once the thread is started, I will post pictures and we can start a plan on what to do. I can not afford a show car and if I could I am not sure 97 GP would be a good choice. I got the car cheap and will make a great test bed for experimentation that a person might not want to try on a daily driver. I will set the parameters of the build in the thread, but I don't have a lot of money and I have one more semester to finish a degree. I know college at 53, it has nothing to do with making more money, it will not matter in my job, but it is kind of a bucket list thing. So after this summer time will be an issue. I do have a garage, but I do not want to leave the Mustang or GXP out over night. It's been over 5 years since the Mustang has even seen a drop of rain.

So what do you all think? First need start a new thread so this one is not hijacked.

Some of my thoughts for title.
"how to project a project car"
"From trailer to driving to modding"
Now you see why I need help. And Marine, not that kind of help or maybe?

There's the member rides section, that's where I'd make the thread. And as far as advice, just give us the end goals an we can try and give you some guidance to get there. I've got a little experience modding the 3800 lol. I can't tell you how many engines and transmissions I've pulled or swapped on these things. I got to the point on my 98(in my sig) where there wasn't much left to mod aside from a $3k built trans, and I just couldn't justify that in any way shape or form on a FWD platform. So I sold out...
SOLD-98 4dr GTP, l32 Swapped, IS2 heads, IS3 cam, S2 intercooler, S3 FMHE, E85, 65# inj, N* TB w/LQ4, OBX Headers, Borla catback, 3.0 zzp mps, lc-1 wideband, HP Tuners, PRJ wires, FWI, Lowered. 04 GTO M6, 07 Grand Prix LS4 powered GXP. 98 V6 GMC SWB, exhaust, custom intake. 09 HHR (Wifes)
