Hello Everyone. My wife has a 1994 SE with the 3.1 litre engine. It has 82,000 miles and has pretty much been a daily driver since 1996 - but not very far. It has always been a dependable car. I am responsible for the maintenance. I was driving it recently on an errand about forty miles roundtrip. On slowing down to exit the highway it felt as though I had blown a tire. It was not. It was night and I was only a few miles from home so I limped it home thinking perhaps I was losing a CV joint. I took it to a major service chain and they diagnosed two broken motor mounts - the top front two. When I picked it up it was still driving weird so I took it back and they found the lower motor mount also broken. They replaced that one and although the car seems to drive well it has a high pitched whine which sounds like a transmission whine. The mechanics then told me that it was my AC compressor making the noise. Just on a whim I checked the air - not working. I recharged the AC today and thought I had found the noise as the compressor quieted down considerably. As soon as I moved the car the sound returned. As tight as the motor compartment on this car is I am concerned that something was crushed between the motor and the frame - possibly transmission cooler lines? Anyone have any experience with this situation or have enough knowledge of what would be crushed in that situation? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Flush and filter at around 60,000. The sound is more audible in the car than out. I do not have a lift and am getting too old to lay under it much anyway. I do have the name of a transmission guy who is supposed to be good but I would rather have some idea of what the noise is. I am concerned that the Tranny lines may have been crushed causing a strain on the transmission pump.
