Thread: W-Body/3800 Meet - Dayton, OH - April 4, 2015

All right boys, it's official:



3800 Owners of Dayton invites everyone to come out for a car meet and greet and day of fun.

Please RSVP via the Facebook event as soon as possible so I can get a head count.

WHO: Any W-Body or 3800 powered car. We're mostly Grand Prix's, but also welcome Regal, Bonneville, LeSabre, Monte Carlo, Impala, and anything with the 3800 in it. Got a 3800 swapped Fiero or Montana, you're welcome too. Also, feel free to bring friends too!

WHEN: Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 11:00 AM until however late we all stay.

WHAT: It's a meetup! Bring your car and be proud of owning a Grand Prix/Regal/any 3800 powered vehicle.

WHERE: We'll have the meet at the top of the Greene's parking garage, 4428 Glengarry Drive, Beavercreek OH 45440. It's directly across from LA Fitness. In the event of rain/snow/whatever crappy weather Ohio throws at us, we will instead meet at the middle level of the garage (like we did in January). In either case we will post someone at the entrance to the garage to direct people to the meet like before.

RULES: Don't be an asshole. Don't get security called by roasting the tires, racing, etc. And if there's drama between members, leave it at home... this is a friendly gathering. Standard car meet etiquette, really.

IF YOU SELL PARTS: You must disclose the history of the part if possible, and if there's any issues with it. If it's determined you knowingly sold a bad or defective part and don't remedy it, you will be banned immediately. I'm not making this rule to deter sellers, but only because we've had some real junky parts floating around in Ohio lately.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-675 to the Indian Ripple/Kettering exit (exit 10). From 675 northbound, take a left off the exit ramp and the Greene is right there. From 675 southbound, take a right off the ramp.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
11:00 AM - Meet up at the top of the parking garage. We'll have a little car show and buy and sell some parts. Tuning may be available.
12:30 PM - Lunch time. I am thinking either BD's again, EO Burger, or Noodles and Company. In any case budget about $15.
2:00 PM - Cruise around the Greene
If there's still enough of us around afterwards, maybe get some dinner too.

An incomplete list of parts for sale that I'll be bringing to the meet. Make me an offer on any of them here or at the meet:

- OBX headers. Never installed. I have all gaskets, bolts, and extra clamps.
- ZZP 3 pillar gauge pod
- Dynomax mufflers (2). Cleaned up, no rust, but would need welded in.
- L67 heads
- L67 fuel rail
- Gen 3 supercharger with LIM. Good coupler. No pulley on it now, but can include an extra snout with a stock pulley if needed.
- Clevite 77 rod and main bearings
- A bare 3800 block and crank. It's still in the plastic, was done by Ohio Crankshaft in Greenville. Ready for a big horsepower build.
- Clean (condensation-free) stock tail lights. I've baked the condensation out and sealed the edges with clear RTV to prevent water getting in a second time.

UPDATE 3/29/15:

After the meet, we will go to the Rave at the Greene to watch Furious 7.

Summary: Weather was cool but clear. Chevy, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac were all well represented.

A total of 19 people showed up throughout the day, which began at the Greene's parking lot. We then had lunch at Noodles and Co. and then went to Tim Horton's parking lot to continue hanging out. I think our "cruise" through the Greene was poorly thought out at best. But we did get some interesting looks from passerby. LOL

Look for another meet in about six weeks (about May 16 or so). We will likely move to a park or a more private venue in order to allow us more leeway in what we can do at the meeting.
