I thought I heard word at 08 that GTO's may be allowed to 'officially' participate this year? Yes? No?

A friend will have a GTO, and wants to join in the festivities.

    99 GTP = 12.936 @ 112.12 2.16 60'
    06 TBSS = STOCK
    07 GXP = STOCK - ordering SSC's

We had one there this year, whether or not they are going to be 'accepted' in the terms you are asking, Im not sure. Webracin heads up and organizes the BGPM and he would be the one better to answer that.

I for one am not going to attend a Grand Prix meet that has more other model Pontiacs than actual Grand Prix's. That's why 'Alamo City Shootout' went down the sh*tter so quickly with the Grand Prix community.

If your friend wants to attend tell him to buy a Grand Prix or ride with you.

^^^^ wow, I dont think that is for you to decide...........

If I have to come down there and drag you kciking and screaming by your ear....you are going!!!

I for one dont have a problem with them... just as long as a GP is there to kick their butts down the strip.

I had planned on showing up last year in my 2001, bt then changed to my S10, bt ended up not being able to come at all for car issues.....

mark my words.... I will be there for 09!!!!

with a pie to the face for Scotty, and a jar of pickles!!!

Flynn is in the military now. He is on and off KCPMC from time to time when he is home.

Shaferz, ever get those burnout vids lined out? Don't care if you didn't get mine, but I would still like to see them.

Maybe this isn't the place, but I'd also like to point out that there is a BGPM message board. I really suggest you join if you plan on attending, or have attended in the past, and want to put in your 2 cents on anything. I know Chris would appreciate any input on how to make this shindig even better for the years to come.

For the record, my friend in question currently owns a bone stock 06 Grand Prix N/A with his wife. However, being N/A and stock, he has no desire to bring it to Branson. All the kid wants to do is hang out with a bunch of other GP fans, and run his Goat down the track. He doesnt care about being in the pictures or anything like that. I made the mistake of telling him there was a GTO there last year. My fault I guess. Didn't realize there was so much hostility.

I didn't mind the GTO being around, and the owner of the GTO that was there was definitely good for some comic relief. LOL! I believe Shannon might be on the verge of clinically insane.

As far as I know, GTO's are not going to be allowed to participate. But no one said, as far as I know, that they couldn't come and enjoy one hell of a good time. They just can't be eligible for awards that I am aware of. That's the last I heard. IIRC, 2009 will be open to all 3800 powered vehicles. Maybe Chris can correct me if I am wrong.

I believe you are correct sir.

W-Bodies, and any car that has a 3800 power plant in it, meaning 3800 swapped vehicles. Fieros for example.

I must of missed the jar of pickles joke on here. I guess I am glad I was not involved in that then. LOL

You are correct.....The event is open to all 3800's and all Grand Prix's no matter what engine.

If your friend wants to drive the GTO down and race, thats fine with me (After we get the trophie rounds out of the way) I think we have had a GTO at every event so far without issues, and even a couple of vettes, so I am game....just understand that it is not a class for GTO's, so he would just be hanging out with the #1 crowd
