As of June 1st, if we can not get a minimum of 40 cars registered, we will need to open our event to all cars. At first when IndyGPC mentioned our Indiana Summer Shootout to our surrounding state clubs, we thought we were going to have a good turnout, but unfortunately, this has not been the case. We currently we do not have enough preregistered cars to hold a closed event. We will place a maximum of 100 cars for this event and after June 1st it will become first come first serve.

Our car show on the Saturday July 12 will be open to all makes and models as it is a charity car show and all proceeds will go do the Payton Manning’s Children’s Hospital.

Please see the link below for more information including how to register for either or both events.

Sorry you guys couldnt get enough people but its hard to pull $50 to race at a mediocre track when you can go on weds for $15 and sat for $25- and the track is in its best condition on saturday undoubtedly! You could always have a group meet on a normal race day or test and tune day and then just pay normal gate pricing. The IL guys last year got together with US41 on a Sunday test and tune day and had a special line and race time for the Prix club guys and it was only normal gate pricing. We went out there with a handful of local guys and it was a pretty decent track but about a 3 hour drive from Fort Wayne. I havent been to muncie since the track was redone so hopefully it is better than it used to be! Im not sure the extent of the new surface other than pics I saw on their website which looked much better. Seriously though, I would give the track a call and see if they could squeeze in a line or two during a normal race day just for the prix club guys to race each other and it would be much cheaper and wouldnt require a lot of people to do.

Wow thats great to hear! As I mentioned earlier I havent been there yet this year and all of the big power guys around here dont normally bother going there because there are so many better tracks and most guys drive up to US131, Milan, or Norwalk and is well worth the drive. Its great to hear that the track is that much better now so I will try to get down there before too long and see how it is.

Thats pretty sweet! I really helps that he has a car that needs traction and prides his track to serve that purpose. I have been going to Muncie since around 96/97 it has always been frowned on by guys here, especially after US-131 re-did their track and lots of guys around here were going up there. and running much better times because they could hook but tech up there is really strict and Muncie seemed to allow about anything and never look at any cars. How are they about cars now with new ownership? I was there last fall and never got tech'd on a saturday and still was using an SN95 Helmet and nobody ever asked or said anything.
