The girl friends 1997 GTP is completely stock. Only thing she has changed is for the sake of appearance.

Beaters are good too. I don't care. I've had PLENTY. Gotta start somewhere!
So far, I can honestly say from the people I've talked to on here, and met, No one would make fun. What the hell,I've met you. Didn't you get sandwiched between 2 trucks????Thats not a beater.

Therm, if I can bring my miss matched paint brought back from the junkyard 99 GT to the event, you can bring yours....its more about the fun and meeting people and having a good time (and seeing first hand some ideas you have for the car..hehe) than it is about getting it show ready.

I have a tentative date set.......

    August 28th - 30th 2008

This is Labour Day weekend and wanted to throw the date out there to get some feedback. The track is reserved and the hotel is onboard for these dates. The method to my madness is that alot of people were wanting to do something not related to the meet (like shows, or Silver Dollar City, etc). With Monday being a holiday, that means we can still do the meet Friday and Saturday, and people can do what they want to on Sunday and drive home on Monday.

What are your thoughts.....I will post up a poll.

My thoughts..... In northern Indiana, Auburn to be exact, is the worlds largest collector car auction that weekend, the Kruse Auction if nobody has heard of it. We normally go on saturday or sunday so that may put a crimp on things for meeting in Branson the same time. I though about this weekend before also as it definately allows an extra day but I also worried about traffic being extra heavy because of more visitors during the holiday weekend. As long as there isnt another Old-Folks' convention staying at the same hotel again..... LOL Damnit Shannon for scaring them with your burnout!

Yea, I thought about the traffic, but its really not that bad. The bad weekend is the first and second week of Aug, as they have a car show there that draws about 2000 cars, and you may not find a hotel. So here is where we are.

1st and 2nd weekend in August.......Not good due to HIGH volume people and hotels are all booked.

    3rd weekend in Aug....open

    4th weekend in Aug....open

    1st weekend in Sept....open

2nd weekend in Sept...Track is booked for "Door Slammer Shootout"

We could move it one week either way if that would be better, but that takes away the extra day, unless people would want to take another day off.

I would have a tough time making it over Labor Day weekend. I've also heard that Branson is a place you want to stay away from on Labor Day weekend. Way too many people go there for a last mini vacation.

There have been several people on the Stl board that will not be able to make it if it is that weekend but I'll let them speak for themselves.

I'd rather have it the weekend before or after Labor day, myself. But then I just come for the racing and the people. I'm not interested in checking out Branson. I like that it's a pretty drive, though.
