I just got my 2005 Grand Prix GT. While reading up on the vehicle, i learned about the HUD, now am wondering if its possible to install it in mine. I could have sworn the projector is already installed because on the dash close to the windscreen and beside the security indicator is a small bulb like thingy. Am i right, is this the projection device?
I saw that i will also need the HUD control switch next to the gear shifter.
My question is can i install the HUD in my car, where can i get the kits and how hard is this installation?

What you are seeing is the sensor for the DRL, daytime running lights and light sensor for auto lights. The HUD would be in front of the driver. It is built into the dash.

You are right Dan, the problem is getting the HUD kits.

Your best bet would be to find a gp that's being parted out or at the yard and get the front dash cover, the projector, and if possible the dash harness. You'll probably have to cut the dash cover to fit the projector in place.

I agree. May want to check the back side of the dash. Sometimes the lines for the cutout of the HUD is there. Worth a look.

Go to a junk yard. I've seen at least 4 with the hud unit still in the dash.. hell of alot cheaper than trying to buy it online.... now getting the install instructions may be a little more difficult.

Sounds like alot of hassle :/ I love HUD though, definitely worth it. I've seen kits for decently cheap on Ebay but the junkyard's probably your best bet.

Heads up Display is kind of annoying, but, I want it anyways, just so I can say I added it...haha...Got the airbag fixed...rebuilt the top end of my motor...cracked the block 2 days later...Glad I didn't rebuild the bottom end...ha...Oh well...It wasn't supercharged like I wanted in the first place...Picking up a supercharged motor today...Going to break it down...Change all gaskets...Add my brand new supercharger that I've been waiting to use haha Driveline, oil pump, computer, wiring harness, and new fuel pump...Sure is alot more expensive, and time consuming than planned...But hey...Someone was talking smack on my wrecked Pontiac...So I figured, what's a few thousand dollars? hahaha
