Hey guys im new here but had a few questions,

    I have a 2004 GTP that is 100% stock.

I'm thinking of doing some easy mods, and im looking at Intakes. I saw this pretty cheap one from a place called "MQT Auto Parts"?? Here's the link 2004 2005 2006 GRAND PRIX GT GT1 GT2 GTP 3.8 AIR INTAKE : eBay Motors (item 140375076056 end time Feb-15-10 22:13:54 PST)

Would this fit on my 2004? What does the 3.8 mean? (I saw a 3.5 and dont know which one to get) What would be the quality of this product and is there anything else I would need to buy to accompany this with a stock car?

    Much help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Do not, I repeat, do not! buy that. Wanna see mine?

If you wanna see the part your buying, on mine it's just the air filter. They're charging 45 bucks for an air filter basically. You can fasten it straigh to the MAF. For the price of their air filter, i've got a better full intake. Also, you might want to learn what 3.8 means before you even think about modding your car.

Did you make your own intake? Also thats why i asked questions before i even did anything to my car. I assume i know what it means, but i just want to make sure.

I think the Fender wall intake probably gets the Coldest air available. You can make one yourself for maybe $20 bucks but it will be Tacky as crap. I just trashed mine tonight and installed my Wizaired cold air intake. It looks Great.

do not buy K&N CAI system. and Wizaired's CAI is expensive but it looks great in the engine bay.

A 3.8, that is the litres of your car a 3.8 litre V6 also known as the 3800 engine.

Do not buy that stuff off e-bay, it is only a filter and is pretty much a Hot Air Intake, will only hurt your performance over the stock air system.

most people argue that volume is more important than temperature. That's where my stance is, and that's why i did the ram intake. If you do the fenderwell intake, that includes adding a huge bend in which will slow down the air moving in. Makes it a little harder on the blower to suck in.

Your N/A...so you'd want the biggest, non-bent, fenderwell you can make...IMO...get 4" pipe and set a filter right in the hole of the fender and run the 4" pipe to the TB. done.

no it's because K&N is not that great. the filters have oil and there are alot of other, better methods to get it done. BTW, why don't you check who it is you start bashing on and cussing out. I've never said anything against you, ya prick.

as is wizaired and spectre. spectre air filters are good because you don't need to oil them to clean them. Please man, take some advice here:

too much oil can be sucked up into your intake. even a guy on here said it got his MAF dirty. Please dude, if you're gonna get on here and talk like you know tech, at least LEARN something before you offer advice. It really sounds like the dealer that sold you your car said "this is the best grand prix ever made" and now those are the words you preach. Moron...

hey superchodes why bother posting if your not providing anything useful? Quit polluting threads help the member choose the best intake for ride.

K&N is not THAT bad but you pay for the name when you can make your own? Maybe who your talking to is in school and cant afford to buy a 200$ intake. Quit being such a dousch bag
