I got an 06 gp gt and the stock cd player is jammed or something. cant play or eject cd's. anyone know of a way to fix this thing? ive looked into a replacement but seems a little steep for a factory head unit and aftermarket ends up being 800 bucks for anything decent cause of the adapters required. id rather spend $$ on performance upgrades. any help would be appreciated.

Last I recall even if you get a oe replacement headunit you're still going to have to get the dealer to flash it or the bcm. The theft deterant on the headunit syncs its self with a digital vin in the bcm so you can't swap from car to car? I do have a perfect condition monsoon collecting somewhere though, lol

04+ radios are RDS Style which means that the radio is programed to the VIN. This requires Tech2 to unlock them, besides that, pick up an ebay unit for GP's. Simple plug and play besides the tech2. I got my 6 disc for $75 and a PAC audio Ipod connector for $32 and the local stealership wanted to charge me $60 for a full hour of labor to unlock my unit, so in the end I'm only looking at around $175 for a good 6 disc with an ipod hook up which was worth it to me, because some places still sell the units for $200+ online.

If you want a factory single disc and can wait a week I will sell you my single disc for cheap after I get my 6 disc unlocked, PM me if you're interested.

I don't think the head units for Monsoon are different, but I don't know for sure, hopefully someone else knows the answer to that...

I have a 2004 GTP Comp G with the Bose Monsoon system. The HU display shows it is on, the volume bar shows it moves when the volume knob is turn, but there is no sound from the speakers. I thought the HU was bad so I bought a re-manufactured unit from Rock Auto but the same thing is happening. Do I need to go to the dealer to unlock it or could the Monsoon amp in the truck be bad? Any other ideas what to check?

Dont mean to promote my place of employment please someone erase if it's against the rules.

But at www.mnrelectronics.com we have a radio repair form you can pull you radio send it in. It is fixed and shipped out ups same day it arrives. Brand new cd6 changer mech installed with a one yr warranty is $225

I might be able to pull some strings and ask the boss if you could buy just the mech and Install it yourself. Let me know if your Interested I might be able to get you a discount as well.

It's a very common problem in pretty much all vehicles with the cd6 style changer indash.

This is the best way to keep your factory radio without having to spend money on a new unit, programming or aftermarket adapters and radios. Just thought I'd let you know

Also there's a free way for an Aux input on xm equipped vehicles. No pac adapters or modules needed. Just do a search for it plenty of information

Your amp either has a blown fuse or its bad... Amps probably toast just check for voltage at the plug on the amp
