    97 4T60E will take off in 1st wanting to somewhat slip which it doesn't really feel that way, it'll hang up in 1st allday til I feather the pedal causing it to shift into 2nd, than 3rd works fine, shifts into OD at about 45mph. Cruises 70 mph down the road in OD staying in gear and partial throttle will accelerate like should, soon as your into WOT it'll just slip and rev the engine up nomatter what gear your in... I just changed the filter added fluid plus some Dura Lube... what would cause this symptom? Does not have no vacuum leaks what so ever swapped modulators and check the filters for the vacuum all good..

    does the 4t60e have a "kickdown valve" in the valve body for WOT engagement... I feel like my 1-2 shift valve is sticking from 1-2 shift... this is an E so it does not have a throttle kickdown cable which can be adjusted on the older ones.. so does this have a kickdown valve for that or similar in the valve body? makes me guess the 1-2 shift valve is sticking and thats why at WOT it'll just rev and bounce off the limiter? anyone? wheres the masterminded trans mechanics here.. or ya'll just bunch of "Dream builders" on the net... I am a GM A.S.E.P. trainee so whats up!

    I don't believe there's a valve. Want a copy of the trans manual? Send me a pm with your email addy.

    Another thing is ..if you have any maintenance items out of whack..it will mess with trans. TPS/MAF etc.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Look at the 1st and 2nd gear in Overdrive, plus 3rd, and 4th if you will... Also the 3-2 shift down in Overdrive for WOT acceleration-(this uses the B solenoid) and the 4-3 shift down, which my transmission works fine for this and is using solenoid A for this one ... I'm definetly thinking this a 1-2 shift valve sticking... I mean what else will cause the 3-2 kickdown to slip... i'm pretty sure the bands and clutches are good in this transmission, it really feels like it.
