250,000 miles on car. no know history. Took car to shop to have fuel tank replaced. When i picked it up, trans was not working properly. It was taking off in 3rd i beleive. After further research, car had 2nd, third & reverse. A buddy told me to unhook battery & let computer reset. Sure enough, this worked for now. He said the computer found a tranny malfunction & put the car in "limp mode"[meaning car only has 2nd & 3rd foward gears + reverse} I have never herad of this & have not seen it mentioned in any thread. Since reset car has done ok,1st to 2nd shift not smooth, but functioning. Service engine light on. What year tranneys will work in a 94 w/o any mods?? Thanks
