Just purchased a 94 GP SE with 148k on the car. When driving home I noticed it never came back into OD when kicked the pedal down to pass. It appears in third gear running @3000 rpm. Earlier while driving it was purring @1800 RPM. Arrived at home and checked trans fluid it was fine but looks and smells old. I'm going to drop the oil change filter, if it has one, perhaps throw some Lucas into with fresh fluids and hope this will help for awhile. The tranny appears to shift smooth otherwise. Been reading all the posts in transmission section and it looks like you have a professional helping us all out with these problem tranny's. Do you feel attempting the flush will help this problem? It worked great on my 90 & 95 Safari AWD for what seems like forever. The 90 had similar problems when I purchased it years ago.

Well I never lucked out with trans fluids and filter change. Shifts much smoother but will not stay in OD while driving highway speed after 50km it drops out. When coasting down hill I can feel it shift down to third when shifted manually. Oh well hopefully a small price to pay to swap the tranny.
