I have an 06 and it's been suggested that I can swap to an 05 ECU so that I'm able to take advantage of tuning software and pre-flashed pcm's.

So far I've heard that it reverses your fuel gauge. What are some of the other things that come up?

Trying to see if this is something I should even consider. I think a slightly more aggressive tune(like one offered by ZZP), may be a good starting place for me.

Why would any problems come from it?

Other than buying a ZZP PCM which will do nothing but grenade your engine.

I'm just going off what I've read here. Someone stated that the fuel gauge will reverse. I'd like to talk to someone who's done it or at least knows something about it before I hunt one down : /

ZZP grenading? I haven't heard anything on that.

And because you haven't heard anything about it, that means it isn't true right?

By the fuel gauge 'reversing' are you meaning they told you it would be on empty when it's full, and full when it's empty or something? Becuase I hav'nt heard anything about that.

ZZP has had a lot of issues with their pcm's There has been some issues with using the 05 pcm in the 05+ cars like the fuel gauge issue some one was having. I have not heard any other issues though.

I never said it wasn't true, lol. I simply stated I hadn't heard anything about it.

I'm not sure what they meant by the reversing. I'd assume that is what they meant though. I'm just going off old posts. Someone asked a year ago about a PCM swap and they were told that it would reverse the fuel gauge and that it may cause other problems.

TDC, thanks for the info. In my situation is there anyone you could recommend to help me get a preprogrammed PCM?

I don't plan on going crazy with the car, just the bolt ons, maybe a cam like you suggested in my other post...just want to get the most I can with what I want to do.

I have a 07 SC GP GT with A OverKill PCM install for 6+ months. Yes the fuel gauge will be backwards but there is no other issues. Will did a sweet job on the PCM I love it. Overkill is the only way to go.

I've thought about this whole reversed fuel gauge thing. Anyone thought to get the fuel level sender from the 04-05 GPs and put it in? It'll probably reverse back.

is it really that big of a deal having the fuel gauge reversed? You can still tell how much fuel you have
