Not sure wtf i'm doing wrong here. Followed all the steps in from the dropbox installer folder (with 3 steps). Installed the 1.2.4, put the database update in, ran as administrator, registered cable. Go to open the bonne .bin, get the error #73 severity 1 unsupported file type BS. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling 3 times now. Am I missing something?

Edit: TT opens it and allows me to edit just fine, just the PT software giving me trouble.

did you install the folder with the database for dhp?

or is this a it wont write it issue? cause if TT opens it the bin should be good. ive gotten a few bins that would not open. severity error crap.

have you tried to read a pcm yet? if it wont read then somethings not set up right, like maybe the speed on the usb and dhp. those need to match. sometimes like my old ass lappy, it will only work on the slower speed.

Try to open the bin to even look at it, won't work with powrtuner. Open the same file with TT, and I can read/edit it just fine. The PCM in the car is a zzp, so it's locked. Communicates with the car fine, can still hook up the scanner and what not, just can't open a bonne bin for some reason. I did unzip the database file in the dhp folder like it said in the instructions, then clicked the dhp.reg file to update it, still no worky.

try another bin for the same year. im using a old zzp pcm in my car. no issues reading or flashing my bin over it.

Have only been able to find 1 '99 Bonneville L67 bin, tried to open an L36 one and that didn't work either. The zzp pcm I'm not worried about, just trying to be able to open this bin in powrtuner so I can edit and write it. Once I can get the file to open, I'll be good to go.

Not sure if there's a step I'm missing, or I'm not updating the database the right way, or what. I mean, I unzip it in the main dhp folder, and click the dhp.reg file, and it tells me it's updated. Can't think of anything else I'd have to do.

Then I guess it's just the fact the bonneville isn't supported, and it wouldn't read the pcm regardless if it was stock or a zzp one.

I do have access to the dropbox, in fact I downloaded everything from there when you first told me about being able to tune a bunch of other 3800 stuff with the dhp. Starting from scratch here's what I did:
    1. Went to dropbox and downloaded DHP tuning software.
    2. Opened "Installer Package" (that has the 3 steps) and opened the readme file.
    3. Followed all steps in readme file to the letter.
    4. Connected to car to register cable.
    5. Tried to open '99 Bonne L67 .bin (that was also d/l'ed from the dropbox), get the error/unsupported file type message.

I have only been able to find one '99 L67 bonneville file, so trying another isn't an option. May try writing a GTP file to a spare PCM I have and see if it'll run on that, if it does, then F it i'll just go that route. Haven't tried opening any of the newer year bonne files, yet, I guess if one of those works I could try writing one of those and see if it runs.

Sweet, glad it's not just me, lol. Nah I can't read the pcm in the car either, same unsupported message crap. Just gonna try a GTP file, or a newer bonne file if one of those will work. Hopefully a GTP file will work, since I know I can edit those.

If you guys aren't able to open that one, then no one ever had Charles unlock 99.

Try opening a 98. if that works... it's nearly the same.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

'98 no worky, '97 and '00 did, not sure if the bonnie's had the different pcm's in '97, so i'm gonna try 2000 first and see how that does. Weird that the '98-'99 weren't unlocked.

99 and 2000 should have the same maf, so at least that should be right.

Finally got around to taking care of this. Tried the '00 ssei file, was a no go, think the security crap was keeping the car from running, would fire for a second and die. Tried a '97 ssei bin next, wouldn't write to the pcm ('98 GP is what my spare is from). Finally a '98 SSE file worked, just swapped the L67 parameters over. Not sure why '98-'99 ssei files were never unlocked, bit this is the best way I found. Figured I'd update for anyone searching in the future.
