    So i'm finishing up my s1x install today. Afterwards I'm going to follow a few of the tuning guides and do a full ve then maf tune Using Dhp. My question was is there anything in particular I should do to the tune besides just a base tune? Should I remove any codes (if so how), should I up my idle, should I raise my shift points, etc. I'm shifting around 6200 I believe now. Any help would be great, thanks.

    Not trying to be rude at all, but have you tuned? Your going to do a ve and then a maf tune but do not know how to remove a code? You need to tune your trims or.maf before a ve tune, and you should have a good working knowledge of tuning before a ve tune.. You dont want to.mess up your motor not knowing how to tune...most raise the idle a little bit on a cam, remove the misfire code so your ses doesnt light up. Raise the shift based.on your supporting mods etc. Theres a dhp guide that shows how to remove codes as well see if I can dig it up if you dont already have it.

    I couldn't find the guide on removing codes that why I asked on that one. I have a good idea about how to do the full thing based on the other guides (garys, jerrys). I'm going to get it running, the unplug the maf and reset my trims, let them settle in for about an hour or so of driving based on the guides, then go from there. I got the gist, just need some clarification.

    It doesnt seem to matter how many times ve tuning gets debunked and people still want to talk about it.

    Just put it together and figure out what doesnt work anymore and fix it. "Tuning" maf sensors and stuff for fuel trims is futile with narrowbands.

    you can get the maf reasonably tuned with narrow band o2 sensors. you can use eddies table modifier thingy to tune the maf and ve, as well as add timing.

    Thats my plan. I might not do too much in the VE, but i'm going to see how it runs and if need be touch the maf.

    i certainly dont suggest or condone tuning with narrowbands. however, i would not describe it as futile. it has worked for a lot of people in the community for a long time. like since DHP was first released....

    Ve tuning was never debunked by dh
    06 GXP | 222/227 cam/cartuning turbo kit on 8psi/meth/e85 coilovers/ still on stock trans at 130k
