So im in the process of finally thinking about putting together the rest of the things i need for the 284 swap. Last thing on my list is the tuning factor. I know i need tiny tuners to swap it from auto to manual. What other things need to be changed?

If you do the swap, message me and I'll look through my tuning files for the speed reluctor pulse settings for the 284, have them somewhere.

    Email all inquiries to willoverkill@gmail.com!

You probably dont want to use the manual trans flag in tiny tuner. All the manual swaps behave better without that option enabled.

    Vss is 24000ppm

what have you noticed? what year bin? ive noticed that i love the earlier bin files trans management more than later years that seem to be far more NVH geared
running the 98/99 regal gs bin in almost all my swaps, including my 700r4 in the waGN.
im using it for the speedo and tcc lockup if i can finagle that to work.

so im keen on any insight

seems my 97 will learn trans adapts in less than 50 miles where it can take an 04 over 100 before it fully learns the adaptives.
    ****in new junk.

ive been wondering how dave inverted solB for the 80e

I may still have my 284 bin file kicking around...I sold my netbook with most of that information on it so it's a long shot.

I have some of the 80e stuff james. I have had zero motivation to look into it but its possible i can find the solenoid polarity if i looked hard enough.

I agree that the 98 and 99 files are great to work with as they behave better with both the early and late valve bodies better than the 02 file behaves with a early valvebody.

The gtp bin comes stock without any of the security options enabled too if you wanted to get rid of the regal bins.

it always seems hit or mis on the security disable t/f

    god i hate passkey3

dooo eeet on the 80e stuff. ive always wanted to read the two 80e pcm's i have and give everything to tommygloves.
im fine with keeping my solid state inverter, i honestly dont know if any changes he made might unknowingly change other things (trans type changes load calcs/tq managment.

never saw any issues with changing the iss to 39 pulses that the 80e uses the sprocket teeth. no issues changing the gear ratio's with tiny. with the riv gone i no longer have my guinea pig till we finish the 442's new build

if it wasnt a complete pita to connect my mechanical toyota speedo cable to the mechanical 700r4 i wouldnt even bother with the waGN's trans...but i need the early 4kppm signal so i can have an aeroforce as my speedo/kr gauge.

    **** toyota's

    edit:
i really miss the dhp forum
