I've heard rumors also that you can use DHP to tick HPT so you never pay credits again .
Hmm, interesting where did you read that?
Not so much read, as heard as voices on the wind.
Never heard of any way to trick hpt into anything. Mostly there is no reason to want to use hpt... it is a downgrade.
Unless you can't get the damn thing to register. I installed the keyspan drivers and says it's ready using com 4. I set the DHP to com 4 and it still won't register.
I had to try a bunch of coms and speeds
Pretty sure I tried them All
Didn't get a keyspan with my dhp...bought an old laptop with a serial port, use it strictly for tuning/scanning for about what a keyspan would have cost...works great!
set the comm ports speeds the same, check the key span drive assistant, check its speed. then in dhp, in options, >general options >interface baud rate, make it the same as the key span, then set dhp to the same comm port the key span is on.
theres two speeds, try the high speed first, if that wont work change em to low speed. my home lap top only lets the key span work at the 57,600. the 115,200 wont work at all on my lap top or my desk top.
The baud rate is based on the version of the hardware you have. If you look at the Powrtuner label, you will notice a number in the bottom left hand number such as 24/729169. The firmware revision is the 24.
If you have firmware 2.0 or older, then you must select a baud rate of 57,600.
If you have a firmware of 2.2 or newer, then you must select a baud rate of 115,200.
If anyone wants the link to dropbox, just send me a pm with your email addy.
It's what Dark has plus more, because I incorporated everything he had (huge help in gathering all the DHP happy bins.)
