Is there a mode or a number somewhere in the Hptuner I am not seeing that has made it so the button on the dash does nothing?

Or what else can make it so the TCS can't be turned off?

your abs light on too? if so fix that, and the tc will turn off and on again.

get it scanned. chances are its a bad hub, or bad wire, or dirty connection @ the plugs.

scanning saves you from chasing it with parts. and no, the free scan at the parts store wont do it. you need to go to a garage and pay them to scan your car for these codes. around here most shops want 75 or more, then i found one that did it for 30 bucks, so he got my 30 bucks lol

unless you buy a abs scanner of your own. seen em for about a 100 bucks.

Wouldn't a bad hub or wire or something turn ON the abs light and disable traction control?

The problem is I can't turn OFF traction control.

i hear ya. the hub does both. tc and abs. one of the sensors could be bad. you got 4 of them. so the scan helps narrow it down.

But a bad one of those can render the tcs button useless? That seems backward.

like i said, get it scanned. easiest way to find the issue. anything we say is nothing more then a guess.

theres a list of free checks, like check for play in the hubs, broken or cracked insulation on the wires to the hub same for around the ebcm on the abs pump. check all them wires over too.

I can post a huge paragraph on how to diagnose a bad WSS or broken wire with a DMM but I need to refine it so its less confusing. Getting it scanned is easier and tells you which HUB to look for problems at. I'm gonna invest in a scanner that does ABS codes I don't think they are that expensive.
