Hey guys, so I'm new to this forum.

    I have a 2001 Pontiac grand prix 4 door 3.8L GT

I have had my check engine light on for quite a long time now. My dad has an OBD reader so I connected it and it came up with trouble code P0452. After all the research and finding out its the "Fuel tank pressure sensor low voltage" we tried replacing the gas cap and fuel tank pressure sensor and still no luck. Ive read i need to test the voltage on the wiring and such, and we did that and it seemed to be fine (that is if we did it right), but whats my best course of action? This is driving me crazy and I cant seem to figure it out.

    Thanks guys

    -Joey

P0452 is not the fuel pressure sensor, it's the evaporative emission control system. There's a solenoid near the coil packs. Check the wiring going to it. It's called a purge valve. Inexpensive to replace.

p0452 means low voltage going to the fuel tank pressure sensor no? Because from previous diagnostics everything says it could be a faulty FTP Sensor (which it couldn't be because I replaced it twice) and/or the wiring going to it. I guess I'll try replacing the purge valve to see if that does anything

Potential causes for this DTC include:

Failed fuel tank pressure sensor Harness to the sensor has an open or short circuit Faulty electrical connection to the FTP sensor Cracked or broken vapor line to the vacuum canister Cracked or broken positive vapor line to the tank Plugged line Leaky gasket at the fuel pump module Gas cap left loose resulting in a loss of vacuum Pinched vapor line

keep looking. check over the wires to the purge solenoid, and the canister tank in the rear quarter panel.

Okay ill have to get it on a lift. I heard something about some sort of smoke machine that tests for leaks in the vapor lines?

you can make one, search you tube. but it says low voltage. id look for bad wires to the solenoid first.
