Would that Trans work be detrimental to Trans longevity though?

quicker shift times and a bit more voltage down low can help, but it can also hurt if done in excess. For example if a shift happens too fast, it would engauge the next gear before letting go of the previous one.

I also play with tcc lockup but by far its probably the most noticeable effect of tuning on AT cars you can do in stock forms

I have also tuned my stock 02 GTP last fall before I started adding mods. Mainly because I have HPT. Now if I did not have HPT and had to pay someone else then I would wait for the pulley drop. If your stopping at the mods you listed then go ahead and get it tuned you will see a gains with those mods. As for the 160 thermo I would return it for the 180.

EDIT: I forgot to add now I have the same mods as you except a 180 thermo so if you get it tuned by someone with HPT Message me and I can send you my bin file with my current tune.
