I swear that there was a thread on this already but I cannot find it for the life of me.

Anyway, my friend gave me a tuned 1999 GTP PCM and I want to know if it'll work (properly) in my 98 GTP. Some tuning sites list 98 and 99 PCM's together, but I swear I read somewhere that they have different MAF sensors or something along those lines.

    Thoughts?

I have heard multiple times that it usually goes 97-98, 99-00, 01-02, 03. But that is what I have heard for other parts, it might not apply to PCM's

    you will be OK.
PCM compatibility is grouped as 1997, 99-02, 2003

1997 has a separate KR module
the 2003 PCM has some changes in preparation for transmission controls for later features

I've done a 1999 file on a 2001 car before, so should work. Like said 97 is by it self.

Yup, you can use 99 PCM hardware, but you should have it flashed with a 98 calibration file.

Correct, or at least a 98 MAF table, or swap a 99 throttle body on.
